[2021 Six Nations] France vs Wales (20/03/2021)

Absolutely true, you have to look at possession + territory. The Welsh had both in the first hour of the match and that explains both their dominance and the score. The way both figures changes at the end means the Welsh just stopped playing while the French gave everything they had. Biggar was already substituted, Owens, Faletau, Tipuric and Navidi were were completely knackered at the 70th minute, while the French kept running. like Duracell rabbits.
Still very surprised by the extend of the Welsh domination at the breakdown until these last minutes. I hope Taofifenua and Le Roux willl be back to play Scotland.
You did what we normally do to you , coming from behind to take the victory . It was a class game though and France are a great dance partner, I think you win against the Scots but not sure by the margine of 20 points might be a step to far but certainly not out of reach for this french team and if you do manage it I will only appauld for me what's been an excellent french rugby team to watch this year

I have a feeling that the fact that we (Wales) were so active at the breakdown led to us somewhat 'gassing' at the end. I was surprised by the French fitness btw.
True, maybe the postponement of the match against Scotland cost us the loss to England, but helped us at the end against Wales. In this type of games small differences can have a big impact.

Can only be a good thing long term for the French side both ends of a last minute smash and grab.

We can definitely win this game but putting more than a 20 point difference to this Scottish team would be a miracle. Depends on the Scots level of commitment, if the French can get an early, significant lead, the Scots will not have much to fight for, so I guess we will have a good idea of the result at half time.

I dunno like, judging from some comments from Matt Fagerson last week... that Scottish squad ****ing hate the Welsh like. Not saying they'll throw it but there may be a 'residue' in the Scottish team's subconscious.

Yeah they've come out with quite of lot havent they. Ireland have probably been the most gracious in defeat. They'll be playing for personal pride though. Mind yo, if they go behind by a lot early on they might just think F it.

I think it was a mistake to take biggar off he had an immense game could of done with his defence in the latter stages
I didn't watch the game but he's definitely the guy you want controlling the match. A bit of complacency creeping in thinking France were spent?

It wasn't complacency, it was the framework we had used all championship... in fact Biggar had more minutes against the French than he did against the other nations.

In regards to AWJ, just think how everyone will react in a few years time when Ben Youngs surpasses his cap total and press start writing about how he's one the greatest players of all time.

So AWJ only gets the praise for his caps. He doesn't even get that on here.

Let's all agree he is wonderfully durable, we'd all love our favourite players to be as durable as he has proven to be.
