[2021 Six Nations] France vs Wales (20/03/2021)

No, but I wouldn't come on here after a heartwrenching loss and rub it in people's faces!

This thread stated like a pile of ****, with Wales given no hope if France turned up, and any Welsh poster hounded away. Well Wales matched and bettered France for most of that match. The Welsh side is full of honest, humble players, there's no ego's and yet they're still hated. Sorry, just don't get it.
Chin up mate. We only support a team depending on which area we were born/raised. It don't mean **** at the end of the day.
It has been a great tournament for Wales all things considered. History records the records, not what people post on forums.

And I'd bet most people on here are more reasonable in person than in posts. The rugby fraternity is actually great regardless of who we support

As matt gaff said its still suffering alot from Gatlanditus. As is the reputation of the team. The cynical play at the end was pure stuff from that era.

Your playing fine hopefully next year you'll play in more than one unctroversial game and people will take it on merit.
and your boys pull up 'your' and 'your'e'... have some respect for your language dude... coz we won't! :p

Only pull up that stuff for shits and giggles, plus new phone so it's still getting use to how bad my spelling is.

Agree on 'some' level BUT it will always mean something to this Welshman... as illogical as it is when it is all broken down. It is our culture like it is to none other (apart from New Zealand tbh...only we have more tears)... which is fine as far as I'm concerned, I love a good cry at stoic moments in films!

FWIW I'm married to an English lass and she was shocked how composed I was at the end of that match. Says it all then. No real complaints from us. Good game, gutted we lost. Even more gutted for my lad who's not used to us losing GS games.. as opposed to me who never experienced one at all I my youth :)

I cried at the end of terminator 2 when I was a kid... and almost broke again when my 4 y.o. also cried at the end of it when we watched it last month. And yes, I let my 4yo watch T2. He loves Schwartzenegger films

NOTHING wrong with that Gaff... I was raised on them (& I only been banned once!)

Aye, we're going in the right direction and at some pace as well. Tonight was as good as I can remember us playing since 2013.

Plenty more to come imo, with some exciting players pushing for selection.

Exciting times ahead hopefully for the NH as a whole. France are definitely back, Eng are strong, Scotland improving further. Little worried about what direction Ireland are going in though. Could be some cracking 6n's on their way with everyone beating everyone (apart from Italy).

Sorry but that is simply not true. Wales has AWJ, Biggar, L.Williams and Adams to name a few who have stinking attitudes and are anything but humble. In the [past they've had the likes of Webb, Mike Phillips and Scott Williams, all of whom also had poor attitudes. They have a history of getting away with tons of cynical play and I think that is what really riles people up about the Welsh team. They are not humble, they are not honest, they are frequent users of gamesmanship who have mastered the art of looking innocent.

With 1 exception, the Welsh posters here are very good and have no issue with them but the Welsh posters outside this forum? Well let's say they are extremely happy to dish it out. It's that combination of having an extremely cynical team with a fair few egos that keep getting away with it and some exceptionally gobby fans that have led to Wales being a pretty unpopular side.

The 'only' thing that concerns me (a bit) is the age of most players... sure they will probably make the next World Cup (for the most part) but 'Oh Boy!' the turn-around after 2023 is gonna be savage!

Personally while there has been some fun made of Wales it certainly hasn't been the worst I've seen on here and most posters have complimented Wales on their performance even if they did make fun at the same time. Certainly the worst posts have come from a certain Welsh contributor I've had on ignore for last couple of years. I don't judge the rest of the Welsh posters on here based on that and I think Dullonien you're focusing slightly on all the negatives and ignoring the more positive posts of contributors.

Pretty sure everyone will beat italy

Game management. 1 minute to go scrum advantage....take the scrum. Reset. Then kick it out. Deliberately drop the ball if you have to to get the scrum. Should never have lost that.

I do get where you're coming from (& in fairness I think you... and a host of the other English posters are more than fair)... some do step over the line though... as do 'some' Welsh posters.

Basically, it is a very similar situation to 'what came first, the chicken or the egg?' Only transpose 'chicken' for 'Welsh Chippyness' and 'Egg' for 'English-disdain'.

Or in Wales, those players play with passion ;)

Still though, each to their own. We all see other teams players differently. S'all good in the long run

I thought about deliberately knocking on. However surely that would be a penalty to France unless you make it look very convincing.

From the rules - A player must not intentionally knock the ball forward with hand or arm.

Normally it only applies to the defending team as the attacking team wouldn't want to knock on, but in this situation it could happen and if obvious it would be a penalty to France.

See, I look at this differently. Humble, to me, has got nothing to do with on the pitch stuff. That's a personal thing. Whenever I listen to Itoje speak I often think he comes across as a decent, humble bloke. Do I think and expect that to translate onto the pitch? Not at all. Itoje being a great example. I don't look at him being a pen machine (cheat) and think what a scum bag (personal) play the ball not the man is all I say.

I'd imagine a lot of it comes from the the Sinkler stuff in 2019 maybe?
