[2021 Six Nations] France vs Wales (20/03/2021)

Want to see Liam Williams yellow again as there was no replay.

Imagine coming fifth, being smashed by a pure average team and trying to rub salt in the wounds in here....

Feels pretty damn good

You forget that we all support English clubs so are used to seeing our teams be absolute shite but still wanting to chirp at everyone else

At risk of being attacked from from all sides I'll stick my head above the parapet and say I thought the refs were good actually. Got most of the big calls correct and there were a lot! The one they got wrong was where the Welsh try held up but given. The ref asked the wrong question and then didn't overrule himself and Barnes couldn't overrule him. Although to be fair if we had a magic way of finding out I reckon a tiny portion of that ball hit a blade of grass but we'll never know and I don't think it should have been given based on what we saw. There was a ref for the Munster game in the pro 14 the other day and I thought she was very good. She had the same attributes of taking her time and then clear and concise with her communication. Darren Cave was on irish tv and explained the red card very well how he went from thinking 'there was nothing in it' to 'its a yellow' to 'its red' as the refs worked their way through it.

Thrilling end of match, a lot of my french mates or family just stopped watching after the red card, it was off, finished...and then it was not. Was a mad match, with France just forgetting all the basics during 60 minutes on a defense perspective and game management...Wales playing almost perfectly...There was no hope, even more with the record of France being just crap in the last 20. As well, the idea at the start of the game was that we should win that game by more then 7 points, stopping the welsh to have a bonus point so in the head of a lot of french fans, after wales was 10 points ahead and playing against 14, it was just finished. but then most of us forgot that there were other possible positive endings for the french side and especially an offensive bonus point despite wales having a bonus point. Anyway great match of rugby, messy in a lot of ways, we would have lost those ones in the last 10 years but we got the mental stubborness to win this one, I believe this is a very important victory for france, killing the old demon and starting a new era. I believe there was a tremendous amount of pressure after the loss against england and this is maybe why they forgot some basics (but also wales played very well obviously). I doubt we will beat scotland by 21 points on Friday so credit to wales for the final victory. And as credit goes, wales had an incredible display for 60 minutes, mastering the match almost perfectly, we were just headless chicken for most of the game. but then for once, we ended up stronger, fresher.

All English officials for the match. Wonder who will get the blame if and when Wales lose?

It may have hit a blade of grass but grass isnt the ground and also there was a hand under it anyway so it makes no difference. The ref gave it yet he was behind the play and a few bodies, 'Barnsey (best) Mate' saw it wasnt grounded but didnt overrule or else it would be his round in the bar after the game.

For me in real time it was identical to the one Itoje gave away against Wales. Difference was it was a lot more cynical considering the situation the game was in.

In all fairness, I also thought the Adam's try wasn't grounded. Both teams had their fair share of luck in this game. And it was tense until the very end.
Great one to watch. Gutted we lost (personally) but can't have any complaints due to how last year went.
3.4 million Welsh fans supporting Scotland next week!!

Yeah, I was really drunk (still am) and I saw Wales clear their lines... first ruck - yellow card. But no TV replay. Not saying it was harsh (or not) just want to see it again. That extra man would have made the difference for the last try.
Sanjay never complained when going off so he must have known what he did

Wonder who they would be supporting if it was France England next week. Anyone care to confirm?

Showed it on S4C, Nige suggested shouldn't have even been a pen, Liam did nothing wrong and everything right.

Gutted to lose that. Thought we played fantastically well. Jammy in the first half with Adams try, unlucky in second we weren't awarded a blatant pen try.

Well played to France though, threw caution to the wind in that last 10 min and we couldn't cope with the pace and power.

Proud of the boys, come a long way from the Autumn and we're looking like a very good side now.

Disapointed by this forum though. Very little class shown by a lot of anti-welsh posters at the final whistle, especially given the game Wales had just played, and the manner of defeat! Used to be such an awesome forum, but doesn't feel like a place I can come as a Welsh poster and enjoy anymore, which shows in how few Welsh posters there are left!

You said it yourself it shouldnt have been a try. A lot of things shouldnt have happened this tournament that involved Wales but they did. How can people not feel that justice has been done?

Would you really cheer (and shout come on England) for England if it was England France next week? Be honest?
