[2021 Six Nations] England Squad

Willaims over May, your trying to wind us up aren't you? They have equal number of test apperances and May has double the amount of try's.

....Ken Owens?
After the tournament he's had?

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze

Considering he's only just come back from injury he's been pretty decent. Like I say, George would be a shoo in usually but his form has fallen off a cliff and the Sherriff has done pretty good. Was decent in the loose against Ireland. Line out was **** but got better against Scotland and appears to have scrimmaged well in both games.

What stand out things has he's done that made you think he's been terrible in both games?

Ok, so before the 6N I would've most definitely gone with the entire English front row of Mako, George and Sinkler with AWJ alongside Itoje as my front 5 but now I'm questioning that entire English front row. George looks a shadow of his former self (I'm pretty sure this is just a temporary thing due to not having lots of rugby recently) and Mako just kinda looks a bit past it like Billy V so I think now, if I was picking my combined front 5 to play tomorrow and going on form I'd go for:

Wyn Jones Owens Sinkler
AWJ Itoje

Back row would be

Curry Tipuric Faletau

9. Tomos williams
10 Sheedy
11. Adams
12. Williams
13. North
14. LRZ
15 Williams
Honestly dont know where to start with this
I was expecting some Welsh bias, just a little, it snatural. But 12/15 welshmen? and an all welsh backline, led by a 10 who, forgive me if im wrong, has he even started a game?

Never mind the wing, and really just to poke the bear

Am i the only one feeling tipuric is highly skilful but massively overrated, and not actually that great as a flanker? Kinda that guy whos a hybrid back /forward, but really a master of nothing. Cant remember the last meaningful impact he's had

He's basically the Welsh Rory Best at this stage - on a good day his lineout is....acceptable
Passive tackling and rucking - I put him in the same bracket as AWJ in that the cult of personality (that BS "Sheriff" persona Wales Online push for him) is what keeps him around more than anything he's done on the pitch in the last 3+ years

LCD at hooker is the easiest pick of the side, really

I mean a guy with 6 caps over proven quality like Watson is also equally bonkers no matter how good he might become.

To be honest an entire Welsh back line is a bit generous but your back line is pretty ****. Though, tbh, I'm a massive massive fan of Watson so he should be in really.

Our wings are not ****, hell they're almost the single handid reason we don't lose games.

These combined teams things are pointless anyway. It's just a bit of fan about what individuals you like. In reality it's about the unit and a blend of skills and who has the best functioning team even if some individuals are weaker than others.

Ehh....... Even I'm getting bored of this now. Probably need to get the thread back on track of why Watson isn't a Full back and George Ford can't defend.
Get with the times, it's now Daly isn't a fullback and er Daly can't defend.

2013 called, they want your team bias back. I mean really, Wales have scraped 2 wins against 14 man sides after coming 5th last year and you want to pack the squad with 12 Welsh players, 2 of which have barely any caps and one I don't believe has even started an international...

How did the England 6N squad thread become the AWJ thread?:D
You'd prefer more Ford & Farrell??

Lions locks will be v difficult. AWJ's race is run at that level, but with SA you've got to fight fire with fire and I'd be inclined towards starting tests with more powerful locks. The likes of Kruis (if form can be proven) and Launch. Gray's impressed me quite a bit too. Henderson perhaps. Frankly the lock playing best on the domestic scene definitely fits that mould - Attwood. Big unit, looks fit, not a big believer in taking backward steps and has definitely added some skills.

As purely horses for courses selections I can absolutely see Itoje or Lawes starting tests at 6. And possibly the v physical Underhill at 7.

My brains going splat, I certainly have him over Adams.

Like there's Welsh bias and complete nonsense.

I can see you point on Adams with regards to his recent form but it wasn't so long ago he was a GS winner and leading try scorer in the World Cup which isn't to shabby but yeah, on recent form I could be persuaded to play Watson over him.

Most of that back line is pretty young to be fair. Like I say, this whole thing is pretty pointless but also pretty fluid. Prior to the 6N I would've gone with 10-13 Englishman in the entire team but **** changes.

If you spank us next week then it would change again.

I get what you're saying about these makeshift teams, but they do hint as to where someone sees the strengths and weaknesses in their team, and by this reckoning, you think Wales are massively superior

Watson is a Lions test starter whos great under high ball, electric pace and could step you in a phone box. Adams is solid and a good finisher. There's no comparison
LRZ is a man with potential, but he scored a great try at the weekend because of the 14 men, and the extra space it provided let him get on the outside. Jonny May has barely any weaknesses, and has been leading winger in northern hemisphere for a few years now

Full back, Wiliams 100%, though I do enjoy the thought of watson, LRZ and May in same team

Tomos Williams and Ford Halfback, centre maybe Scott Williams and slade would have a nice balance

Back Row for me is comfortable, Curry, Underhill (He was in the squad, Im taking him) and Faletau
Itoje, AWJ
SInckler, LCD, Mako
