[2021 Six Nations] England Squad

Sorry I edited. That meant to say Itoje isn't going to win the game single handed? You know, coz he's sooooooooo good. Best player in the world. Another planet to what AWJ is on. Going to be a walk in the park.
Being better than AWJ doesn't make you the best player in the world,
That's the whole point

Watch the game mate. Stats don't tell the whole story. Never have never will. Useful tool though.
The detailed ones can, I did watch the game and genuinely barely clocked he was playing. Beirne looked the outstanding second row on the day, and to me Ryan looked better as well (just my opinion)
I think Wales even past AWJ, have struggled for a while in the second row, is there any talent coming through here?

Yeah we've got a couple of prospects but it's an area of weakness for sure. But then we have a small player pool and finding 6,6 plus guys isn't alway the easiest.

Sorry, it's just that's all I hear from the English but I agree. Very very good player even he bottles big moments like that WC final.
This is harsh again, I'd say your hatred of Itoje seems a lot more intense than anyone's feelings for AWJ. Comfortably

Not only do I really really rate Itoje as a player but he seems like a good guy as well.

I do think he's overrated but that's only because I've heard him referred to as the best player in the word in numerous occasions. Not on here tbf.

There's a few promising 20/21 YOs, Ben Carter for the Dragons, Jac Price & Morgan Jones for the Scarlets but this is their breakout season so will be at least a year before we know if they are genuine options. 2nd row has been an area of weakness for Wales, that's why they ended up capping a 29 Yo Englishman (Rowlands). Wales had a bit of a missed generation of locks, the age group of around Seb Davies, Rory Thornton just didn't work out. Adam Beard is the kind of exception but I would call him solid albeit unspectacular. That's probably enough derailing the English squad thread lol

Okay, so one more question just to stoke the fire as an independent Ireland supporter.
If you picked a combined team of Wales and England based on six nations squads, who would you go for?

I feel this is a valid question given the two are playing in 2 weeks

Anyway. Always fun. Tongue has been firmly in cheek for half my comments I'll stop spanning your thread now. Thanks for the responses. Peace and love.

**** me, That's a hard question. I'd need
To think about that. I'll get back to you in a hour or so once I've done some Work

I've never heard Itoje be called the best player in the world,
Maybe for a laugh during the last Lions tour when they had whole stadiums of fans singing his name?

Seriously? It's been all over the media for the last year at least. I mean, it was only a few weeks ago Matt Dawson was saying England were the best team in the world and were akin to the All Blacks sides of the naughties. Lol

Whenever you chat to a casual England fan(which to be fair is 90% of your fan base) it's Itoje is so great, he's the best blah blah blah. Brilliant player most definitely but still has a lot to work on before he's considered the best. England need to win more with him leading as well.

Wrong, Itoje is a god.

Ok, so before the 6N I would've most definitely gone with the entire English front row of Mako, George and Sinkler with AWJ alongside Itoje as my front 5 but now I'm questioning that entire English front row. George looks a shadow of his former self (I'm pretty sure this is just a temporary thing due to not having lots of rugby recently) and Mako just kinda looks a bit past it like Billy V so I think now, if I was picking my combined front 5 to play tomorrow and going on form I'd go for:

Wyn Jones Owens Sinkler
AWJ Itoje

Back row would be

Curry Tipuric Faletau

9. Tomos williams
10 Sheedy
11. Adams
12. Williams
13. North
14. LRZ
15 Williams
