[2020 Autumn Nations Cup] England vs Ireland (21/11/20)

Ed Byrne out. Bealham now covering loosehead and Ryan on the bench.

Really makes having only two looseheads look silly.

Big day for Keenan, a piece on RTE there and England have scored so much against us by putting kicks through in the last three games. Keenan is stronger than Larmour or Henshaw to deal with it though. Lowe and Earls need to help him out, Earls has struggled in his recent encounters bar 2018, 2017 incl.

Well as far as I can see Binny's already had more than his share of carrot. Stick is overdue. It's not like we don't have options now.

All for experience and continuity. But Binny's best form is years ago and he's injury prone. Quite apart from giving him a kick up the backside this tournament would have been the perfect chance to have taken a proper look at someone else.

Dombrandt must be wishing he'd stayed in Wales.
He was rubbish last night. Simmonds hat trick lol

Distinctly remember Earls being awful in 2017, to be fair that was before he got good again. Was successfully targeted by England in 2019 as well.

Agreed on Keenan, huge day. If it goes well he'll have really put himself forward at 15. Go badly and he could easily slip away despite a few good months.

Huge problem that was entirely avoidable. Healy doesn't contribute after 50 minutes really so we're f***ed really. Wouldn't be surprised to see Porter move over initially, definitely the guy with the most experience at loosehead.

Underhill represents a pleasing return to choosing forwards based entirely on ugliness. More Underhills, Makos, Ewers and Stuarts, please. Bring back the "orcs on steroids" and "cauliflower-eared monoliths" archetype for England.

So in the last two 6N games against England a quarter of their tackles have been 'dominant'. Have to hope JGP's sniping, having big centres and some kicks in behind will slow down their linespeed.

Centres don't really have a kicking game but it's Byrne's biggest strength and Lowe and Keenan are fans of kicks in behind.

POM letting the pashun of the greatest ever rendition of Ireland's call flow through him.

Hate to say it but Galway Tipp has been much more entertaining than I can imagine this game being.
