There was a moment when French defence was so compacted their line ended under the posts... backs should have identified and exploited half a pitch worth of space.

I'm not keen on it but whilst Frances defense was good I did think we got over the line and there were some penalties in there that Owens should of bought it back for.

I think that's partly because they've progressed past the grinding phase play and are much more expansive versus the 20-30 phase pummel (which is just a tool now rather than default).

This season Exeter have been really good to watch IMO. Strangely under-represented in this England side for some reason, not unlike some other clubs.

Too many stupid penalties and England don't look like they can be bothered. England in completely the wrong mindset and not fired up for this game at all. The lack of vision in this side is worrying, many of the players seem completely oblivious of where the space is and only ever look for where they can kick to.

Also Farrell has had a string of poor performances now with no redeeming bits. He isn't even hitting the penalty kicks any more. He needs to be dropped until he finds form again because he is a liability, there's simply no 2 ways about this any more.

To be honest I'm pretty confident we're pull this out in the second half. Any game against France is going to be tough, they could put out a big pack even if it was their 5th team.

Have to improve the kicking game though.
