I know Jones wanted to replicate the conditions that lead to the WC final. Did he replicate them too well?

France are just comfortably better so far.

Slade is far better distribution than Farrell as a centre, so he must stay, and the choice is between Ford and Farrell.

Personally, both are liabilities atm. Ford is sublime or ridiculous, never between. Farrell has no vision and relies so much on those around him. Just look at Sarries, Goode at FB, Barritt in centre and Wigglesworth at SH, all great game managers that took decisions from Farrell.

Looking forward Simmonds looks like the one, he has a cool head on him, but does the simple game management well.

Unfortunately Eddie has set his sights on Umaga, who does a very good impression of a headless chicken when he's not got an armchair ride, so no relief on the horizon yet.

I think that's the real question France are ahead by a defensive lapse and a penalty that I'm fairly certain was cause by the ref not blowing up in the scrum when France popped up whilst England going forward.
