I think it's because Beau will be first choice 10 in the 'big' games and Shag is hoping his confidence off the tea would be built up today and not decreased... went the other way though.

Yeah I think TJ was picked to start because Faf has outplayed Smith the last couple of times they've gone head to head. And now Faf is off Smith can play his game better.
