At home the sharks really should be taking this. This game will finally show us who is the better team this year. The Stormers and Sharks both will be playing in the playoffs and they need to step up their game now. I still fancy our chances of making the semis but then an improvement is needed from now until then if we actually want to be successful there.
Our forwards will be pumped up by the complete domination we had over the Sunwolves. PSDT and Etsebeth will come up against a pack that is bigger than them for probably the first time this year . We will show PSDT why he made the wrong career choice to move to the Cape.

Sharks to win by 12 and to end the hopes of the Stormers.

Easy Sharks win against the SA team that think they are closing the gap between the SA and NZ teams

Relax guys this game means very little in the grand scheme of the competition thanks to the Jaguares capitulation.

Sharks are certainly a better team this year but for me the only advantage they have here is home ground.

They've struggled agaisnt teams when their pack can't bully them (Kings/Lions) and if there is forward pack parity I back us to score more tries.

Looking forward to the game, and good luck to both teams!

Edit: Actually I lie, if the Sharks can sneak into a better position than 8th on the log they may have an easier time of things.

Ideally you want to be in 5th because then you get which ever Aussie team limps over the line. Second best I suppose would be 6th because then you get Stormers at Newlands. 7th and 8th are the most dangerous because Cristchurch away has got to be the nightmare fixture, and Ellis Park away isn't that much better. Sharks should aim for 6th then, I don't think 5th will be doable.

Well ... other than the log advantage we can gain by beating the Stormers it is always fun to beat them , Stormers supporters that work with me think they have won SR after round 1 ... !!

Whoever gets the privilege of playing the top aussie qualifier in the playoffs is extremely fortunate.

Any Stormers supporters supporter who thinks we will survive a play-off in NZ after our tour is delusional.

I just want us to keep improving, beating a Kiwi side at home in the quarters would be the cherry on top.

The poor old Sharks, they are not the team they used to be... I would like to see them get up for a win.
Whats happened to Pat Lambie?

What do you mean? Yea they lost a few Springboks. We used to make up the bulk of the Springboks with 11 players much like the Crusaders did for the All Blacks. But now that generation has passed on to Europe.
It's not all doom and gloom. There is a younger generation coming through and soon enough the Springbok coach will realize that there are better players in the Sharks team than he picked for the Springboks.

Even with our developing team we will beat the Stormers this weekend. We have had the second best record by a SA team in the competition this year. So I don't really think we are that bad. If the young players don't get bough by richer clubs before they become developed then we should be dominating the SA conferences at the very least.

As for Lambie he came back after suffering a vertebrae injury in round 2 or 3. 15 minutes after he returned he ran into his own player and concussed himself also ruling himself out of Springbok selection for the June internationals. When that game started I made bets with my friend on how long it will take for him to get injured again. He is hands down our best player and without him we will probably get destroyed by the Hurricanes again just like last year .

Sharks are a good side, with some promising talent.

That said having a better record than us means very little considering the teams we have lost to were: The Lions/Crusaders/Hurricanes/Highlanders.

Since you also lost to the Lions and don't play the Kiwi's it's not a fair comparison. That said you do have a strong team, and I'm looking forward to the clash!

Aye, there was a bit of a slump after the Plumtree tenure and after Venter/Everitt/Mcleod-Henderson we were finally getting a little bit of footing again then Jake White rocked up for a year and changed things for the worse imo, then came Gold who held it together long enough for Robert Du Preez to come in toward the end of last year. A fairly rocky past few years but I'm sure many will agree that under Robert we are building as a team again, and in just about one season he has made this Sharks team his own, which not one coach has done to the Sharks since Plumtree. It's always "a matter of time" with the Sharks, thanks to our youth structures, and having some great rugby schools we always have the talent, even when we're sending half of them to Europe. I think we're doing great, and still getting better. As for the game, it could very well go either way, and I hope which ever side wins is made to fight for it.

It has the hallmarks of a cracking game with both teams capable of playing excellent rugby.

It's also I suppose a symbolic clash for the "number 2" spot in SA, but it's not that important to me, the more strong teams in South Africa the better!

Hopefully John Mitchell can revive the Bulls this year and we can finally drag SA rugby out of the spiral it seems to be on.

With any luck last year was our rock bottom.

I know i am probably unconsciously biased, but i see the Stormers getting away with murder here.

Great teamwork, Sharks really bossed the Stormers around. Defence was great, very calm IMO. Etzebeth was soon frustrating to watch, he was dominated in so many collisions, the guy has heart but really? If you're as heavily marked as he was you should be offloading after sucking in those defenders. PSDT was not much better. DDA should not be a bok IMO, he's playing kak, such a shame as he was one of my favourites in 2015 or so. I think perhaps if Vermaak and Coleman were kicking better tactically they would've given their team a much better chance against our defence. The only Stormer I thought had a cracker was Kolisi. As for the saaarks I thought April and Reinach had a great game, sad that Cobus is going to Europe. Our forwards were definitely up for the physical challenge and our lock pairing is really coming into it's own. I expected a lot more Lwazi counterattacks due to the high ball and weather but alas. Sbu Nkosi still great to watch, even though he needs some soccer practice. Anyways, feel like most of our guys put their hands up, and that this game gives the Stormers a lot to consider ahead of the playoffs
