Commentators said it was only their second ever win against chile.

I think it will take awhile before the Olympic boom helps.

A real shame that the weather was so bad for the Canadian & Brazil matches. Impossible to gauge what sort of standard is being played at (having watched both matches) but Brazil look reasonable in the last 20mins and I expect they will close the gap on Uruguay and the USA. It looked like the Canadians selected a weakened side against Argentina XV? Presumably because it isn't a full international? The competition really needs the Argentina XV to lose. Only then will there be the slightest pressure for them to start playing higher quality players and make it full test matches.

Tremendous credit to Pichot and the Argentine union for supporting this competition though. I'm very optimistic for it in the future.

It was a good weekend for the USA. Zach Test played very well for the short time he was on the pitch. Back and forth action. Even with what could be considered a 2nd 15 for the US, they still palyed well and carried the play for large portions of the game

Thanks for posting. A cracking last try by the USA and some half decent stuff by both sides, including AJ McGinty at 12. A relief to see Uruguay appearing to find some form after a terrible November tour of Europe. Poor crowd though.

But November was their first tour. They have to take that as a learning.
The same for Brazil in their first tour to Europe. The results were bad for both.

Fair point, but I thought Brazil's results were credible in November as they are much less experienced internationally than Uruguay and a lot lower ranked. Uruguay losing to Germany was a shocker and as it was first game up I don't see why it would be all that more challenging than playing in the USA (a better side albeit in similar time zone).

Do you think Uruguay have any chance of getting a top 3 finish this year in this championship?

Yes, I think they could beat Canada if they play as at the first half against the Eagles.

was uruguay really bad or agr XV fielded a better team this year?
does anyone know what kind or team are usa and canada fielding i saw a few familiar faces but can´t tell. usa did good vs the weak brazil side, but canada looked bad vs chile
are this the best posible usa and canada teams? uruguay did play with the best they have vs arg XV.

for argentina the team was mostly the under 20 that did good in the world cup. some interesting players like n 7 lautaro bavaro and 8 De la vega. julian dominguez a rather tall and strong winger
bautista delguy was very good as full back. ignacio larrague also looked good at the second row but the line out was messy. the scrum was dominating despite of the very young front row.
