Big game. I can't decide whether I'm attending this game or the Brumbies match. I suppose I'll have to decide sooner rather than later. Sadly I don't have the time to do both. Traffic in and out of Newlands is just too much of a hassle. I wish we'd make the move to Cape Town Stadium. I know the arguments against but it'd sure be easier for us folks living in the suburbs to attend matches.

Anyone heard anything on Robert du Preez's injury? It'd be special if he could make it to this game and play against his brothers who are also making names for themselves at the Sharks (each with a MotM after 2 weeks).

After this game one less South African side will be unbeaten. The sharks have been playing really well. There has been handling problems with the sharks but i think that is to be expected in the Durban humidity. I have a feeling the Stormers will come away with a win at home. These sides know each other and it tends to be much more of a tighter score than when we play the Australasian sides. I don't really rate Coleman but we don't have Lambie either so its a battle of the pretenders at flyhalf. Joe Pietersen has been solid so far and honestly i cant critique him on his play as he has done what was expected of him so far.
This game will probably won on penalties and i strongly believe that both sides will revert to a traditional South African game.
The sharks backline look to have the uperhand on the Stormers with the back three of Mvovo, Pietersen , and Le roux all springboks. I do think they will be nulified to an extent and it will come down to a forward battle which at home for the Stormers they will probably win.

Good news as when he played for Biarritz, to my mind, his tackling was on a par with George Ford, his speed with Alex Goode and his efforts with the ex-French internationals eking out their existence in the same team!

I've been surprised by how well Pietersen and Le Roux has done for the Sharks. Its only been two games (unless you count the warm-ups games fro Le Roux where he was also a danger man again) but two positive outings for guys I'd have had lost respect for as rugby players.

We'll have to see how Coleman goes and who will come onto the bench with Du Preez out for a long spell. I hope its going to be Du Plessis. Doubt either bench option will see game though unless Coleman also hobbles off. These two teams have a way of making opposition look poor so I expect a dire match when they face each other. Brutal and intense but ugly. It'll either come down to who has managed to rack up the most 3-pointers or if we're lucky a moment of brilliance from one of Le Roux, Kolbe, Mvovo, Jordaan or if they find their mojo again, the likes of Carr and Notshe also have it in them to make magic. I just hope De Jongh puts glue on his hands before kick-off.

Should be a good contest. I don't know what to expect going into this match tbh. I'm looking forward to the battle at lineout time, and both these teams have adequate scrums. I hope the sharks can continue to improve regardless of result

I am not sure he kicked the ball. Looks more as if the ball was grounded on his foot. 50/50 tbh. Anyway, we ve got game!

A true South African game of rugby this..

What a last few minutes try from the Shooorks! Pietersen! Stormers should go for the attacking line out and maul here, what an end!

Congrats Shorks, great ending. Tight game, Sharks looking like good play-off prospects this year, Stormers with a big game vs the Brumbies next week as well. Lacking some imagination in the backs, they really need Du Preez fit.

How did JPP play?

Not many opportunities out wide for either team but you'll be happy to hear he beat two defenders and got the other Pietersen into space for the match winning try.

Stormers need a plan 2 for when we don't dominate upfront. We beat the Cheetahs only on the back of a dominant line-out. Du Preez and De Allende are sorely missed.

Didnt even know it was illegal to kick the ball out of a players hands in the motion of scoring a try? Is It??

It's a penalty to kick the ball out of a player's hands, whether they're scoring a try or not.

To be honest, while watching the game i always had the feeling as if it was the Stormer's game to lose. They were the ones setting the tempo most of the time. Guess they made too many silly mistakes when it mattered.
Can't wait to face them.
