[2016 RBS Six Nations] Round 5: France vs. England (19/03/2016)

The only thing that can cost England a win is stupid substitutions which is a bit of a recurrent theme with Jones and Lancaster before him.......
TBF Jones has only almost lost a match once to that tactic. Lancaster did it all the bloody time and never learnt.

Owens determined to keep France in this game.

After giving a try to England and advantaging clearly England in the first 25 minutes ??

Always same schema, counter balancing a bit at the end of the half to avoid to be too much one sided...

Et hop again : A little free penalty for ENgland just before the half, penalty not obvious at all seeing that the english prop is going down clearly the first...

I still think that ENgland is slightly superior to France for now but certainly not by that margin at half time...Owens just arranging his little score how he decides.

To be fair Jones only did that v. Wales to have a look at people when the game looked more or less beyond doubt. Still dumb, but justifiably dumb. Ergo, 1 Haskell, maybe 2.

at least that missed kick should give france a bit of a boost. However, France really need to pick up the pace of their play.

Clearly this one was not a penalty but overall we can't blame the ref for all.
England has been very clinical on their two tries. On our end although we showed passion , we did made some hands mistakes, lost a critical touch etc ...
5 points at half-time we are still very much alive ...

Speaking of touch I hope Noves is gonna reiterate where the field is to Vakitawa.

Question on the Haskscale where was Lancaster for the whole world cup planning and playing. He must be pretty high up.

Be interesting to see if we can go up a gear here, we could lose it if we don't.

Listening in on Be In Sport. Don't know who the other pundit there with Steve Thompson is, but they both think Owens made a mistake with allowing the Cole try, which I think I'd agree with. Lucky us.

I agree on the first point - undecided on the second.

Guscott and Cheika have differing opinions. First time I thought there was nothing in it now I'm unsure.

Guscott is right though he lines up against Mako not Cole so unsure the 'blocking' made a difference.

Good game, great seeing the French come out of their shells. Good we have been second best but we are winning. Too many missed tackles. Up fast put them down hard. 6 nations needs a good le crunch

hope France will have sufficient fuel in the tank because playing the top14 in between may cost us big time.

If only France can create more space for Vakatawa to run into, then England will have a nightmare trying to bring him down.

Dat superman tackle from Nowell

Vakatawa was a big gamble for France but he's been worth it.
