I wouldn't say downward. You had some promising performances today. Mccloskey offered so much more than Payne would have.

Overall we're getting worse than 12 months ago. Hopefully we go to South Africa in the summer with Henderson and Dillane in the row, PO'M back at 7, a fit Healy on the bench and McCloskey and Ringrose in the centre with Henshaw at fullback, our lack of ball carriers is telling, similar to Scotland at the moment.

You've lost a legend in that ginger tall person though. Any top team would struggle without his presence. I feel a replacement at 15 needs to be seen for you and you look a tad thin in the second row. Ireland's second row is by far your strongest point.

He hit the ball.

Only reason the ball didn't go loose from that was Murray holding on, actually.

It was obviously negligent and I'd agree to a yellow, but people talking about a red card plus citing are just being emotive.

Good win. Bv was ridiculous again. Itoje great. Just need to sharpen up for Wales and we'll be fine. On brown, not a penalty in a million years. If you're Irish and complaining, you're butt hurt, if you're Welsh and complaint you're nervous, if you're Scottish and complaining I guess you're just being yourself.

Brown was reckless , rucking was done with long ago because of incidents like this, that sneaky git knew exactly what he was doing , he would go to prison for gbh on the streets doing something like that , he's a horrible filthy person and I just hope he gets cited for that.

Here comes the half wit...

All of Ireland's 'star' players are on downwards trajectories - there's a rebuilding job coming.

Didn't see any of the game so can't comment that much but I did start laughing when I saw Haskell had got himself sin-binned. Some things never change.

Roll on the summer.

The only solace I can take from that is that Wales will have no problem beating England at all. All the praise going their way yet all they've done is beat the two wooden spoon competitors and a seriously depleted Ireland team. Completely overrated, and if they had tried pulling the stunts they did today away from Twickenham they would have got even more yellow cards. Poite has no guts at all, Nigel Owens would have been far more suited to that game.

I think we've lost his set piece ability more than anything, we have leaders in that side and I think the way we rallied after Brown's try showed we're not lacking there... The line out and the scrum however...

The thing I'm most ****** off at today is that JvDF was our best player, McCloskey gave us something we've never had in a backline and Dillane is the modern type of second row we've been crying out for. Why did we have to throw them in at short notice because of injuries, Schmidt's lack of foresight is really coming back to haunt him and he'll be forced to change his approach in the coming weeks and months. We never should have expected to win this tournament but three games in without a win is horrific and he's got to cop most of the blame, very Kidney-esque...

You are clueless if you think repeated kicks whilst the ball is in hand is legal. And Mike Brown has never been the nicest bloke has he?

Couldn't agree more just to add brown should be banned from playing the rest of the tournament for that absolutely disgusting

Just joined to post that. Get back to crying in your Guinness.
