[2015 Six Nations] Ireland vs England (Round 3)

Right from the Italy game the Irish have been saying that they have not shown what they are capable of and it has all been the plan of Schmidt......well, I believe you!! You have still not shown what `you are capable of and have well and truly beaten as poor an England team as has set foot on Irish turf!!

Congratulations Ireland.

Right - let the inquest begin. Personally, I thought the first half was pretty decent, insofar as it can be with silly individual errors all over the place. From there, we let the pressure get to us and got more and more ragged until the bench came on and added enough impetus to let us finish strong... just too little too late. There's been plenty to poke at in the last games as well.

I honestly don't know what to think there.

I don't know if Ireland were good, or England were poor, or whether both sides were poor.

Bizzare game.

This... pretty weird. The overriding thing is the disappointing feel that we didn't get any attractive rugby from either side.

Ireland as good as England were bad at the breakdown.
Ireland comfortable but not particularly impressive with ball in hand.
England as bad with the ball as you'd expect with that performance at the breakdown.

Dat coaching.

Prosecco opened!! Absolutely frickin' delighted

Well I must say Henshaw has arrived. On quick summary.
Henshaw amazing. I think Zebo gets a lot of stick here but he proved his workrate along with the other back 3 guys. Payne I'm still unsure about in centre. Our half backs prove they're up there with best in world easily.
Regards Madigan I'm huge fan but I do doubt if he's a 10. I'm not starting crap saying Keatley is better I'm saying Madigan doesn't do it at 10 and well Keatley probably would be of a similar case. On contrary I've given Jordi stick but well I can say he has massively risen up in my eyes. I thought himself and TOD were excellent. I think the drop from Heaslip and SOB down to these 2 isn't that big. Our front 5 were brilliant and Schmidt is going to a RWC (regardless of last 2 6N games) with the best squad we've ever had.

Congratulations Ireland!, one off the best game in this years six nations.

Felt like a game from the 80's. Just a massive onslaught from the Irish, and English half backs capitulating under pressure.

To be fair to Ireland they took all their chances.

Haha, I just need any excuse to post lemons really! :p

God, I love posting pictures of lemons

You guys are sick.

Sexton's injury needs to mentioned in terms of England's last quarter 'comeback'.

Ireland were good in terms of defence, discipline, game management, breakdown and set piece, as they are almost every game. They are so consistent and opportunistic, you have to admire them. The only thing they can't do is open up sides ball in hand and you've got to wonder if it's ever going to happen but I would swap in a heartbeat.

Zebo was outstanding outside of one missed tackle I think.

Some dumb play by England for most of that match- showed in the last 25 mins how it should be done. I think this England team has a much higher ceiling than Ireland tbh, it just didn't click today.
Haskell and Attwood didn't have great games, Burrell neither, could be a case for Mako and Youngs to start, much more dynamism later on- Wigglesworth too?

Oh Peat, if you want to see some more lemons, there's this really informative website called Lemonparty you should see. I'll message you the link.

I think Lancaster was seething in that interview.... he came across as seriously p*ssed and just about keeping it in.

What a terrible bench. No lock to come on, no genuine back 3 player to come on, and we had Cipriani unused in a situation where we needed to chase the game.

Called it.

And I reckon Johnny may would have finished what others could not today. When the Irish legs slowed up he'd have opened it up.

Felt like a game from the 80's.

Until you watch a game from the 80's and realise why the term "amateur" has negative connotations.

I don't know why people are so quick to point to Lancaster when our players are poor technically or tactically, sure he's technically head coach, but in the same way that Alex King is clearly the guy who should take the vast majority of the credit for Saints' attack.... Farrell and Rowntree are the guys who are ultimately responsible for the technical performance IMO.

Selection of the coaches and players? Sure, but the inconsistency in performance isn't directly down to him in my mind.

So... We were ****. Way too many penalties given away and an awful kick chase. Sexton is huge for Ireland, when he went off they looked much worse. On the plus side, Billy was awesome, standout player for us.
