[2015 Six Nations] Ireland vs England (Round 3)

was it ever at risk?

Pretty much as expected i suppose, 15 was the main discussion point and actually the few things Goode does have is good Positioning, a big long boot so and a brave air game so it's not exactly making it easier for the irish to play their kicking game.

Still think this game might be too son for England on it's current curve.

In general yes - but it also comes at a time when our tight five looks, on current unreliable evidence, better than theirs, so could be a lot worse.

Some were tipping Twelvetrees to start, the bench is still a massive mistake with no lock cover.

yeah, the bench is a difficult one, i do understand continuity. I can only think they want to try and raise the pace of the game up front later on with Croft and Easter.

i agree about that, i just think their ability to execute a pre-defined game plan is better than ours. That means even though they give up weaknesses in areas throughout the team as a unit they compensate for those weaknesses with excellent execution.

(sorry bit of a mouthful that but you get my point)

DisEaster, surely?

Has Thomas really learnt to scrummage this year? Or does he still need Attwood up his chuff?

A mako/youngs/Thomas front row, with Easter in the 2nd row, spells disaster.

Or both locks get injured and we have an easter and croft second row.
Shame about Brooke's, he's looked alright. I do appreciate having a couple of props who can carry, but Thomas brings that too I suppose.

I think this game will be like last years but in reverse. No team did anything much wrong, just one team had home advantage and the other didnt .

I think Ireland by 4, but I also have a feeling that if we can allow our guys to play with freedom early on before things really tighten up, we could strike early and hopefully stay ahead. However with Goode, we're going down the conservative route and the chance of a 'preemptive strike' seem far more remote.

Good team, but after watching Stuart Lancaster's interview on ERTV (I actually quite like SL, he seems like a nice guy), he seems to be prepared for what Ireland are going to them, rather than what they can do to Ireland.

Regardless, great team and will definitely challenge us.

Think that's pretty standard isn't it? He's not going to say "we don't' care because we're going be playing like this!"

He's going to focus on the Irish and try not to give any of his strategies away.

Yeah of course. Just think he's really expecting an aerial battle, and if Schmidt doesn't play that (he probably will) it will be interesting.

Reason for Jones over Fitzgerald - would have meant having too many left footed kickers or something - someone will need to confirm that, kinda missed a bit on what joe was saying.

Going without a scrum half is a brave call,

I'm lost who hasn't a scrum half?

Guess it'll be battle but I'm liking fact we have a combat bench in forwards. Luke Fitz isn't there so while Felix is solid I think we won't have spark out wide. To come on if needed. Rest is explanatory itself.

He's trying to be funny because I forgot Murray's name in the list for a split second.
