[2015 RWC] Warm Up Match: Ireland vs Scotland (15/08/2015)

So long as Mel Gibson isn't around any longer, I'm alright with it.

Ah Braveheart, that bastion of historical accuracy with an anti-semitic, anti-English Aussie playing the main Scottish lord who is instead portrayed as some farmer.

I guess that's true. The Romanians and Canadians are more used to playing sides around their own level however, so they wont carry in the mentally of utterly defeated losers the Scots always have about them.

Also, any Romanians or Canadians are more likely to break out their wallet and spend a few quid compared to the tight-fisted utterly defeated losers mentality the Scots always have about them.

I'm Irish so obviously an Ireland fan but I do like Scotland. You should've beaten Wales in the 6N so hope Saturday isn't a complete disaster for Scotland.

Cotter signed up til 2017 makes it pretty obvious that Schmidt and Cotter will be hoping to coach the All Blacks together.

There's a thing somewhere on the internet where someone has taken the first scene of Braveheart, where the "historical" context is set out in subtitles, and painstakingly detailed every single historical inaccuracy.

It's like ten times as long as the scene itself - basically everything except the word "Scotland" is a lie

What's the point in winding up a team without fans? It's like slapping a mute.

This is basically Cotter's job actually while we're on WW.

Wonder with Marmion gone temporarily does that mean Boss is certain to go to RWC or will Madigan be a 3rd 10 and 9.
The back 5 spots still look very open at this moment

We refer to it as a historical comedy. Arguably even historical. Although if Salmond gets his way we'll do away with the voting age all together and just sign anyone up who has seen that travesty.

Why are we letting these non top 10 plebs have the privilege of playing the second best country in world rugby? I mean, we all have to do our bit for the minnows, but it seems silly this close to a world cup.
Because you clearly haven't seen the history between Scotland and Ireland

Played: 130. Won by Scotland: 66 Won by Ireland: 59. Drawn: 5

I'll let you figure it out.

Performance in the distant past isn't relevant. That's like saying that China and Russia should be scared ****less of Mongolia because of what the Great Horde did in the Middle ages. Or like saying Scotland is a relevant rugby nation.

Leave poor old IMScotty alone!!!

Wots he done for you to be winding up him so hard?!!!!!

Has he not got enough on his plate bing a Scot having leaders like caviar and smoked (Sturgeon and Salmond)!!!!

Being Scottish is kind of like being the fat, awkward but not angry kid. Everyone insults you but we love you really. Apart from Andy Murray lanky prick.

That's cos he's not fat, thinks he's class 'cos of it and hangs out with the (arrogant) English.

Trimble's second scan was really positive and he'll hopefully be available for selection for the Welsh game.

Tadgh Furlong has a little ****le and Marty Moore still not 100% which is why Nathan White is on the bench.

Zebo has been playing full back all week.

You could've just written "typical" and saved yourself some time. The Aussies aren't the most PC of types.

Scotland:Jackson, Lamont, Vernon, Horne, Visser, Tonks, Pyrgos (captain); Grant, Brown, Welsh, Hamilton, Gilchrist, Cowan, Blake, Denton.

Replacements:Ford, Reid, Cusack, Harley, Barclay, Hidalgo-Clyne, Weir, Scott.

Scotland deciding we're better off as a novelty out of position XV!
