Well if his competition is Slade I would say the tackle in the air was more of a stupid mistake. I think they have both played well though. I was in the camp of Burgess hasn't done enough to warrant selection but he has impressed me tonight.

So far fairly impressed by our backing I'd like to see it with Ford next week. I'm warming more to idea of Burgess at the RWC considering how England play. However I'd like to see Ford-Slade-Joseph sure it may have defensive issues bit I think it would be amazing in attack.

I don't think it will - Parra went looking for the penalty (and card), even if Sam hadn't grabbed the shirt it would've been 50/50 whether the ref/a touch judge would've pinged the collision.
That kind of thing happens in a game, and I think Lancs et al. won't mind it - if they're willing to name in a RWC squad and start him 3 games out from a RWC, then I think his performance in the 35mins running up to then will easily outway the card.

Whilst I agree Goode isn't and will never be an international class fullback, neither will Cips.

The more i look at it the more I think that call at the scrum is bull**** . The referees should be on the same page . Debatys arm touches the floor 3 or 4 times . Hodges is on a different planet to the rest of the referees . I look forward to the day the Welsh complain about any ref then I'm gonna show them a pic of hodges ...

I agree up to me would rather have Watson or Foden (if fit) there with Nowell or Roko on the other wing with May.

This is a pretty top French XV who have played well. I think the second XV of England have done well!

This is a real test compared to the rubbish that the other games have shown up so far!

Not sure we should be so hard on the English team..,..

That's a fair point, him and Parling have been very quiet, but considering Kruis' playing style it's more damning of him.
