[2015 RWC] Warm Up Match: England vs France (15/08/2015)

Can't see LCD going to the RWC now.

Barnes seems to think George is 4th choice ATM, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't pencilled in as 2nd.

Couldn't agree more . I think Stuart Barnes is being really harsh to the England forwards tbh . They have done ok imo . Especially without 7 of the usual 8 forwards presuming wood is the 6 all 8 if it's Haskell

At least the celts can shut up about us playing 10 man rugby again now ....

So what does Lancaster do next week.

Go for his full 23?

Or have a similar type 23 with a sprinkling of more current starters?

May and Watson should be the England wingers, both of them looked class this evening.
Slade looked good
Burgess is definitely one for the future
Haskell was so reliable he got England out of trouble on several occasions, class.
Vunipola offers so much in the loose.
Parling and Lawes are the best lock pairing in the northern hemisphere

I agree, Barnes is a goat, and that may be a little harsh on goats.

I thought Haskell did well when he came on, made a difference.

I would have him pencilled in as 1st choice now Hartley isn't here myself Olyy, but I really don't like Youngs. Clark, LCD and Kruis are all done now I think. Burgess, Slade, Goode, Parling, Corbs, Wiggles and 36 still have to earn it.

The latter, I reckon.

Marler, George, Wilson
Launchbury, Attwood
Haskell, Robshaw, Binny
Youngs, Ford,
May, Burrell, Joseph, Nowell
Brown

Youngs, Corbisiero, Cole, Lawes, Morgan, Care, Farrell, Watson

I reckon the 23 will be similar to that, but not necessarily that XV/Bench

Reckon the squad is looking like this ATM:

1) Marler, Vunipola
2) Youngs, George, Webber
3) Cole, Brookes, Wilson
4) Launch, Attwood
5) Lawes, Parling
6) Haskell, Wood,
7) Robshaw
8) Bunipola, Morgan
9) Youngs, Wigglesworth, Care
10) Ford, Farrell
11) May, Nowell
12) Barritt, Slade
13) Joesph,
14) Watson
15) brown, Goode

With Clark or Burgess making it 31.

That's what I think Lancaster will have in his head now.

Guy doing the live feed on the BBC said he'd "heard" Brookes has a broken wrist. Not confirmed.

Good game, some exciting stuff and a few combos tried out, some successfully and some not.

Reckon the citing commissioner might be a bit busy mind you...

Thoughts on Burgess going and covering 6/12? In all likelihood he won't play against anyone other than Uruguay at 6, would be valuable to squad

Opposite of what I expected, to be honest. Forwards were average, backs went very well. I can't help but feel it was the officiating that kept it close.

Only players I was particularly disappointed with were both hookers. Haskell and Kruis did a good job mopping up (the latter especially at lineouts). Wings were both very good.

Looking forward to the return next weekend. Hope England get a bit more ball to work with.

Looked like a broken wrist - massively swollen.

I'd second that. Lots of swelling focussed around the wrist bone. Hope it's minor, but doesn't look good at this stage.

Just like to leave this here ..... Slade or Twelvetrees . It's easy if you ask me

Ford, Slade and JJ would be lovely

Farrell was decent today too

Replace Burrel with Barritt and that would be my guess.

So young Henry will be singing this on the Coach on the way back to the hotel.;) nice KoK number.

Fair one - I've got Barritt pencilled in as starter for the final warm up game (which is, presumably, our first choice 23) - the preceding two are to look at other options.

Think I'd play both George and LCD next week.

edit: Lancaster just it'll be Youngs and George.
