[2015 RWC] Final: New Zealand vs. Australia (31/10/2015)

I think we need to realise that Hansen and co are masters
Of World Cup final tactics and Cheika is
a babe in the woods.

I think Cheika's been great in the lead up. I just think this whole "game plan leak" was dumb. Which ever way it went down seems a bit silly to me.

They were giving them the respect.
They don't call them the All Blacks, they call them the "Adidas presents the AIG All Blacks".

Agreed.

The banter in this thread is terrible.

Let's try and focus on the game before I start revoking member's weekend passes with my ban-gun of justice.

Doesn't it make it more interesting though?

You're going to have to get that gun out should the wallabies win. Actually come to think about it if the ABs win it'll be even worse. Why have the kiwi posters on here gone full retard on us lately?

Haha, good luck with that mate! There's no restriction on age on this forum is there? With that in mind I suspect you might find yourself running around trying to control 8 years olds. Well at least thats how some of these posts read.... Genuine question though, how old are you two??

Agree with that. Radio sport had Tony Vietch on today (from 12 I think) with a 6 hour build up to the final! I turned it off after 20 minutes cause they'd run out of anything meaningful to talk about.

Me? 23....but I'll basically be turning 24 over the next 12 months.

"We're gonna smash you mate!"
"Nah, we're gonna smah you bro!"
"Ah shut up mate!"
"Nah, you shut up bro!"

Yeah, really enthralling

Haha - you are aging fast mate!

OK I'm out, got nothing better to say that the rest of you by the looks! Time for some NBA or something!

It wasn't Cheika's skills that got the wallabies into the final
-it was the referees mistake.

Stick to the rugby!
Am I right ?
Nah bro, you are completely wrong. You wanna talk about Rugby? Chieka has been fantastic for the Ozzies. He took them from bottom of the barrell type stuff to RWC finalists in less than a year. He won the the RC, and proved perhaps about 90% of the rugby community wrong with his success. He's brought in quality coaching staff to shore up wekanesses in the Ozzie game, he changed the OZ eligibility rules to bring back in some key players from overseas, he has a fantastic knowledge of the game, and now has a very real chance of winning this tournament.

So tell me, on what basis do you think Chieka has nothing to do with the Ozzies being in the final? And dont spin that one-off penalty BS, cause that is just one moment out of a whole season of Rugby. Tell me what alternative insights you have into Chieka's coaching skill set (or lack of).

It was the 5 years from Robbie Deans that got the foundation built.
Not the 10 minutes with Ewan Mc Kenzie or 20 minutes from Cheika.
You seem to think the Aussies are a real threat to the All Blacks.
I don't ..
No way -they could only beat Scotland by one point
C'mon !!!

13 of the all black 23 were involved in
Winning the 2011 RWC final.
8 out of the Australians were invved in
2011 bronze losers final - and lost.
You have to understand that the RWC
Final is a mental fitness game and the All Blacks
have it in Spades.

Funniest thing I've read today

Truth hurts

This is going to be a cracker, slightly fancy the AB's, but you never know.
Anyone ever heard of an AB called Brent Pope met him on Wednesday, guess who he fancies, pure gent too.

Brent Pope never made the All Blacks, but got close a few times

[TEXTAREA]condensed from his Wikipedia page

He played for NZ Schools and a couple of NZ Age Grade teams before before representing Mid Canterbury, Canterbury and Otago where he played nearly 100 games for the province over the next 10 years, winning a first division NPC ***le 1991. Team mates over that time included All Blacks Paul Hnderson, Mike Brewer, Taine Randall, Josh Kronfield, Arane Pene and Jamie Joseph. He was selectr in the original 1987 All Black RWC training squad, but was injured and had to withdraw a week before the tournament began, being replaved by a young and relatively unknown Auckland No 8 by the name of Zinzan Brooke.

After RWC, Pope was named Otago player of the year in 1987/8 and was again shortlisted for the All Blacks tour to Japan at the end of that year only to miss out again when the tour party was trimmed to 24. He played several All Black trials from 1987-1992, represented the South Island, Leinster, Barbarians, A New Zealand selection XV, and an International XV[/TEXTAREA]

Are you 12?

Deans was a woeful coach.
He was a star in super rugby because the majority of his side were all blacks.
Cheika has turned a side eating each other alive into a unit.

I think the All Blacks are well deserved favorites. But dont get to cocky.
I have a feeling you will disappear if the Aussies win

I thought Australia won the 2011 bronze medal

Sorry your right -I went to the game and obviously got
on the booze.
Bronze final: 21 October 2011
Wales 18-21 Australia (Eden Park, Auckland, 0830 BST)
Report: Wales 18-21 Australia

We will find out if they are a unit in 12 hours time.
I'll be here to eat humble pie if the All Blacks lose.

1) OZ won the 3rd place play off in 2011 - they didnt lose. But why am I not suprised you didnt know that
2) You are wrong with your numbers of how mnay ABs were involved in the '11 Final too!!
3) Points margins in games dont even tell half the story. If you'd watched that Scotland game you would know that. But, if you really want to go down that track riddle me this: NZ beat Argentina by 10 points in this RWC but OZ beat them by 14. If you want to use the Scotland game as a way of diminishing the strentgh of this OZ team then how do you reconcile the Argentina games?
4) That whole Robbie Deans comment is bizarre. Are you seriously saying you credit the current Wallabies success to Deans (who stoped coaching the Ozzies more than 2 years ago) more than the current coaching staff?? mmm, ok
