[2014 TRC] New Zealand v Australia in Auckland (23/08/2014)

Another Rugby Championship for the ABs, this is very predictable. I prefer the 6 Nations

Too early to call, good result for us, still 4 more games to go.

Barrett mowed him down with speed which put pressure on him to make a decision and THEN he cocked it up.

This, Folau looks good as a runner but his rugby brain under pressure was shown a bit tonight and has been found wanting.

Aussie just outclassed tonight, plain and simple, they had no answer to the AB's machine. It is not going to be like this every week but you got the feeling they wanted to prove a point after last week.

Rumors of the All Blacks demise have been greatly exaggerated

"unbeaten at Eden Park since 1994", ah really, who was that that won there ?? :p

I know my prediction for the game may have been seen as arrogant to some but it was just how I saw it unfolding. :)

Fantastic game.

Well, I think that showed the difference. The stats were about equal and we still conceded way too many penalties. When it came down to it we took our chances and Australia didn't. I don't think that was a super impressive All Blacks performance.

Just finished watching the game as I had to record it. Shocked with the result - I really thought we had turned into a winning outfit but that was a disaster. What a joke of a performance. Too upset with the result to comment at the moment.

Big problems for aus, they could start by getting rid of palu he was useless I watch him closely tonight and he offered nothing, ABs played well but Australia should be embarrassed to concede 50

Are u kidding me? Boks couldn't last year and this year are at a lower level. Or you're talking about the Pumas?

This is very predictable, I prefer the 6N by far

You were bang on. But if that was a fantastic game, then so was the Kangaroos v Kiwis RLWC Final last year.

In both cases, they weren't so much "games" as clinics on how to play it.

For me Folau is way overrated. As shown by this game. He made numerous errors in this match. Beale should of been at FB the whole time. Folau should be used on the wing as the AB's do with jane as extra cover.

Will Cooper get another shot at 10 for them once he's fit or is he goneburgers?

Looking forward to mark reasons editorials! Perhaps he will agree with mike hooper comments that the game was close !

I disagree. South Africa could take the championship down to the wire. They are the best team in the world after NZ.

I disagree.

Sure the ABs are brilliant, but they represent a gold standard and therefore beating them is so much more meaningful than winning a 6N in some ways.

Don't get me wrong, the 6N is a good comp, but the RC is a much tougher and more grueling affair because of the H&A nature of it and the presence of the ABs. Winning it means you've had to achieve something pretty impressive.

Folau isn't over rated - he was just playing in a side that was outclassed. He still beat at least one tackler every time he got the ball, and it took someone taking his head off to stop him earlier.

Which is predictably slow and boring. Close, I'll admit, but that's all it's got going for it, and is due to the lack of any stand out teams within it.
