[2013 TRC] Argentina vs. South Africa in Mendoza (24/08/2013)

to all the forum wizards moaning about "SA players complaining about opponents brutality"- HAVE SOME

Worcester Warriors and Argentina loose-forward Leonardo Senatore has been cited for allegedly sinking his teeth into the arm of South Africa lock Eban Etzebeth in a Rugby Championship clash in Mendoza on Saturday.
The Springboks won the feisty encounter 22-17 but were unhappy with a number of incidents in the game, with flank Francois Louw also claiming an attempted eye-gouging.
"Senatore is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (m) Acts contrary to good sportsmanship when he allegedly bit South African player Eben Etzebeth," tournament governing body Sanzar said in a press release on Sunday.
"Upon further review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play."
Sanzar offered no details of when the disciplinary hearing would be held. The International Rugby Board's minimum ban for players found guilty of biting is 12 weeks, with a maximum sanction of four years.

God I hate the Springboks....
1.They always get huge slices of undeserved luck.
2.They continually lie about opponents brutality.
3.Their commentators suck.
4.Grrrrrr

So true, so true!!!

Mr. Walsh was sober or drunk?? Man, what awful refereeing; all the time tipped the balance in favor of the boks.
Good for the Pumas actitude, they played with stamina and heart each ball. Matera superb!! We have replacement in the new generations.

I thought Walsh gave the Argies a HUGE leg up, what are you talking about; illegal binding (no binding) in the scrum and hips above torso, were allowed to dive into SA rucks off their feet all night long except one time, pulling mauls down and obstruction on the try. Pumas can send Mr Walsh a big thank you for a bonus point. That said I do respect the fire they played with and they played with what the ref allowed them and that's all you can expect of a team and they deserved the win if only for that in comparison to our attitude. If we pitch up with that attitude over the next few weeks we'll get thrashed by both NZ and a down Aus.

The problem is all the wizards can come up with against SA are incidents of players that played for SA years ago. And they forget about the Sheridan nuts punchiing of Bekker which carries a bigger sentence than eye gouging!

Bleat - Whinge - Whine - Moan - Justice4 Bakkies - we are soooo victimised! Blah! Blah! Blah!

And this team (Springboks) wants to dethrone the All Blacks? Puff, they will eat two terrible thrashings home and away with the men in black.
Would you have said the same last week? Let's not let emotions cloud judgement here.

They are perfectly capable of beating the ABs (not that they will, course).

I think us Saffas should stop trying to dismiss that we are not thugs. The last couple of years there were isolated incidents, with Etzebeth and Greyling the most notable.

Since the professional era, we have had James Dalton, Corne Krige, Schalk Burger, Bakkies Botha and these other 2 who are branded as thugs.

I think the magnifying glass is a bit closer to the Boks than other teams because of our style of play. So we shouldn't be surprized if these things are shown.

What bothers me however is that this is the 2nd year in a row that we have complained about biting and eye-gouging by the Argies in Mendoza, but due to the crappy camera footage, its not picked up.

dude, this is FKN HILAAAAAARIOUS !!!

New Zealand has large doses of kryptonite in the water?
Their ability to play is effected by the distance they are from the South Pole?
Kiwis can't fly, so to go to other countries anything becomes possible?
The gravity is lesser in other countries and therefore they grow stronger?
The are compelled by their search to find Old Nealand?
They can bribe foreign officals better than their own?
Richie McCaw was born in Scotland?
Other countries provide greater nutrition?
Every other team performs better in New Zealand?
Every other team performs worse outside New Zealand?
What is a New Zealand?

WOW !!...never seen such a reaction from a one-line post before, quite the exuberance right there, wheew !!

Vulcan death grip^

Proof, if any was needed that Etzebeth is in fact, Vulcan.

Jeeze I wish you would get your facts straight once in a while.

Go familiarise yourself with Regulation 17 so that you can avoid embarrassing yourself when you spout your verbal diarrhoea!

EYE GOUGING.........................................\.................................MAX

And before you go quoting this one...

this is specifically for the testicle grab, NOT for a punch, and I have that first hand from a JO

That info needs to be updated though with the rule that Samaon players are exempt from any punishment for ball grabbing.

Disagree strongly with this. Argentina have been struggling immensely to defend the maul in both these games and were conceding a number of penalties from this. They were hardly getting away with it. Most scrums ended up with ball played but it was South Africa who got the penalties for infringements. I didn't think the ref was that bad, and I certainly disagree that he was ignoring Argentine infringements as they were penalised for collapsed mauls and scrum binding a couple of times.

Sorry Duck, but Stormer has a point.

The scrums I thought was resetted too much. The Argies were scrumming inwards, and on 2 occasions, we got the scrum wheeled, only for Walsh to reset the scrum, instead of awarding it to us.

And the Argies did dive into the rucks. No doubt about that. Bodies lying everywhere didn't help us getting good ball, and to be lying where they were lying, they had to be diving.

The people who chastise Walsh so much clearly have not seen George Clancy, Nigel Owens and the other **** referees of the RaboDirectPro12 on a regular basis.

There's a difference, this was an international test match.

You don't see ****ty Jason Jaftha officiating international games... And we chastise him every damn week.

Ruan Pienaar and Morné Steyn had a bad game, Morné sometimes brings nothing to the team, only his kicks but when he has to play with the hands or defend, he can't do. He should be like a NFL kicker only get to kick the ball and when to play, that between Pat Lambie instead.
Cheers
