[2013 EOYT] England

Could've sworn I drove past Kane Douglas on a bicycle earlier...

And now I've seen this:

Good to finally be in London Town... Had a good little bike ride around with the lads to stay awake.. #WhatJetLag pic.twitter.com/FnHJsmoDih

So random.

After seeing the Performances from Foden and Goode at the weekend.
Goode had a absolute shocker while Foden had a great game.
Foden must start.. What is everyone's line up for Australia?

Webber and Thomas are in camp with England as injury cover for Hartley and Wilson. Sources from RFU Twitter.

Positive: Webber for and involved

Not so positive: Thomas is potentially our only cover on one side of the front row. Don't know how I feel about that.

Yep a bit worrying that Henry Thomas is the only tighthead prop cover if David Wilson doesn't make it. In terms of experience he is very callow; but if he does play we'll soon find out how good he is. I haven't seen too much of him; how has he been doing for Sale Sharks this season?

England are really racking up the injuries. I guess I've always wanted new talent to be tried out but this isn't exactly what I meant.

Better with the new scrummaging laws, and better with a big lock behind him - still average at best, though.
Put him, with Parling behind him, up against NZ and he'll be screwed.

Parling is comparatively weak compared to Andrei Ostrikov/Kiril Kulemin, or on an England level, Dave Attwood.
It's not having a go at him, he's just not that sort of player.

....................... with Parling behind him.............. he'll be screwed.

O...n...Lyy having having a laugh!!

Since the tighthead prop generally doesn't have number 5 behind him, I think he'll probably be safe on that score...

Really? Why are they numbered 4 and 5 if they line up at 5 and 4 in the scrum?

Atwood behind Thomas might be bearable, but any other lock combination fills be with dread. Against a first choice front row and the All Blacks having Thomas on the bench or even starting is basically giving the opposition a large handful of free scrum penalties.

In other news, Dan Bowden wants to be the new Shontayne Hape: http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,25883,3556_8992242,00.html

I'm struggling to think of any others, to be honest  Well, there's the young guy at Saints whose name completely evades me - one of the Waller's perhaps? Or is it Mercey?
There's Paul Doran-Jones, but he's not at international standard either.

Sinkler got taken apart by Ross Harrison on Saturday, so he's a way off.

Agreed. I was wracking my brains to think of anyone else. Turns out we're overly stocked with talent on one side of the scrum but not so rich on the other.
