2013 British and Irish Lions

Lads no offense to the English but how can anyone rate Farrell in terms of he plays an awful brand with Sarries and England. Like don't get me wrong they winning but if Lions play that brand in Aus I will be shouting for Aus. Sexton was the best 10 of round 1 and well 20 mins against England before going is hardly enough to say he's been poor. Farrell can kick but apart from that I have yet to see him really run the back line and well when he's at 10 it's shown statistically not many tries go in for club or country.

I think Sexton's overall better game gets him the 10 jersey for now. Having Farrell to bring on with 20 or so to go is fantastic option, he plays a extremely good tactical game can kick and is a rock in defense.

Sexton's nailed on status was only due to the fact that every other fly-half eligible was someone to make you shudder on grounds of competence. Now that Farrell is beginning to look something like an international fly-half - maybe a boring one, maybe not, certainly effective - the situation deserves review.

And I have to say, I do sorta agree with Draggs. He's not been consistently at his best with Ireland, and that is enough to make me ask a few questions. Yeah, it's not easy shining for Ireland under Kidney, and he's excellent at the business end of the HEC, but there are Irish players booking in big performances week in, week out in the green shirt. Mostly forwards admittedly. But until he sorts that, I'll have a few doubts.

Assuming it's a 32 man squad.
15. Kearney
14. Maitland
13. O'Driscoll (cpt)
12. Tuilagi (yes I know he's not a traditional 12, but these days it's either a second 10, or a beast, and I want to see our beast running at Quaid Cooper)
11. North
10. Sexton
9. Peel, never going to happen, so Youngs.
1. Healey
2. Best
3. Cole
4. Launchbury
5. Lawes (off field I know)
6. Ferris
7. Armitage
8. Easter

Back 3 cover: Halfpenny, Brown, (Tuilagi)

10 cover: Flood (Twelvetrees)

3. Jones
Front row cover Jenkins
2nd row: Alun Wyn Jones, Donnacha Ryan

That starting XV wont happen imo. At 15 it'll be Halfpenny or Hogg. Maitland wont be on the wing, not sure who it will be but dont think he'll be starter to be fair. Youngs i'm not sure on, then again no 9's are standing out to be fair. Jones will start over Cole to be fair.

Then the Back row.. I dont see Armitage or Easter going. Ferris starting will likely be a push, I can see it going 6. Robshaw, 7. Warburton and 8. O'Brian / Falatau / Heaslip.. Not to sure on the no.8 to be fair :/

Im not sure if Hogg had played 11 or 14 when he was on the wing, if he wasnt 14 then I'm not sure who I'd like on the right wing. Pity Bowe is injured - Cuthbert had a good game but he isn't very consistent. I'm not even going to comment on Ashton.

I'm not going to post up any suggestions, because I know I'll be biased after today's performance, but none of the Welsh backrow in your side Saint Matt, after one of the best backrow displays I've seen in a long, long time?

Well then critisize ours and tell us what you'd rather have. :p

I'm thinking of starting new, something big regarding the Lions just not sure you guys are ready for it yet....

I said to myself I'd put a team up after the 6nations, the only injured players I'm going to include are Sexton and Morgan.

1. Healy
2. Hibbard
3. Jones
4. Hamilton
5. Wyn Jones
6. O'Brien
7. Warburton (It would be Tipuric but a bit of leadership is needed)
8. Morgan
9. Laidlaw
10. Sexton
11. North
12. Scott
13. O'Driscoll
14. Cuthbert
15. Halfpenny

16. Youngs
17. Vunipola
18. Cole
19. Parling
20. Robshaw
21. Phillips
22. Flood
23. Tuilagi

Club and tour form will change things but that's what I think so far this season.

Looking at how this 6 nations has gone, has anyone else's confidence levels in the lions winning the series gone down a touch?

Not really. I still think we should pick a big, mean pack and bully them off the park. Nothing pretty, but just deny them the ball. We certainly have the players to do that. With that in mind, I'd probably pick this:

1) Cian Healy
2) Rory Best
3) Adam Jones
4) Alun Wyn Jones
5) Jim Hamilton
6) Jones
7) O'Brien
8) Morgan
9) Philips
10) Sexton
11) North
12) O'Driscoll
13) Tualagi
14) Halfpenny
15) Kearney

16) Gethin Jenkins 17) Meh 18) Dan Cole 19)Joe Launchbury 20) Chris Robshaw 21) Danny Care 22) Eoin Farrell 23) Jamie Roberts

That's a big team.
