2013 British and Irish Lions

Trying to remember the last time the Lions toured Aus with a Ziwi in charge who was also the welsh head coach with an English forwards and defence coach along side him......Rob Howley was there too!

Just going to settle the 15 debate.

See Halfpenny there trying to collect a routine enough garryowen?

Oooops....Kearney appears.

Nice to see you on the internet...makes a change from committing acts of fellatio on farmyard animals

I love when a 15 debate turns into a good 'ol fashioned debate on the finer points of sheep shaggery.

I think as it stands obc before the 6N so subject to change my team would be :

1.Healy/Corbisiero
2.Hartley/Best
3.Cole/Adam Jones
4.Ryan/Lawes
5.Parling
6.Ferris/Wood
7.Warburton CAPTAIN
8.Heaslip/Morgan

9.Care/Youngs
10.Sexton/Farrell
11.North
12.Tuilagi/Roberts
13.Davies/BOD
14.Bowe/Ashton
15.Halfpenny/Kearney

Players on the left being my personal first choice but would be more than happy with either choice also haven't included players like Lydiate purely because he has a long term injury and is likely to miss most of 6N and feel like there is too much choice in the countries to be taking players that haven't played for the last 6 months

and to explain the Halfpenny choice ahead of Kearney i feel like the Halfpenny has a heart as big as Wales itself which is always a great thing to have in any sport

Haven't put number 16-23 on here beacause once you have decided on the team the ones i have picked on the right would make up the replacements

Feel free to discuss ;)

Jonathan Davis's starting XV

Opinions?
Personally I'm not too fussed with it
Woulda liked to see BO'D 13, O'Connel, Healy, Ferris in the starting and no Warburton

Can i ask where u got this team from would like to have a read of the article

many thanks

It's decent. People will say Tuilagi is stronger and faster for the 12 spot - but he isn't an intelligent player. & Luckily we have one of the best in O'Driscoll. I think we need a smart centre to create opportunities, and hopefully he will be captain if he manages a starting shirt.
I have no idea how Sheridan is playing, how come he wasn't in the England squad? (Im guessing its to do with playing in France?) Healy I think is just a more well rounded player in my opinion, but of course a lot of England and Wales fans will disagree.
O'Connell could make the mid-week team, but not the starting team. I think he's lost his form now.

As an Ulsterman I'd love to see Ferris start, but I doubt he'll make it through the Heinken cup & 6N. O'Brien should be in real contention for a starting jersey - he backed that up with his performance today. Wood has been very impressive aswell. The 6N will really decide between him and Lydiate and Wood.
For 7, I think Warburton will get it. However Rennie is very underrated and I think he could be in with a shout if he has a good 6N.

In the second row - I wouldn't have Jones. I think one of the English lads will get it, Launchbury is looking good. Lawes had a poor game v Ulster but I still think he's a good aggressive player.

For the 3 shirt I'd go for Dan Cole. But that's just a personal preference, he's very good at the breakdown.

I hope Halfpenny is ok - I'd rather have him over North or Bowe.
I guess the 15 shirt is up for grabs for anyone really. Foden had a pretty poor game mind you on Friday, I was a bit harsh on him earlier in the thread but I still rate him as a very good player.

15: Kearney
14: Halfpenny
13: Davies
12: O'Driscoll
11: Bowe
10: Sexton
9: Care
8: Heaslip
7: O'Brien (I know Gatland wants a true 7 but this is just what I'd like to see)
6: Lydiate
5: Launchbury
4: Gray
3: Cole
2: Best or Hartley (pretty even in my eyes, Best is better around the pitch, been a bit poor in the line out)
1: Healy

I think I speak for most people on this forum when I say whatever the backrow is - I think it's going to be pretty good.

That's my two cents anyway.

Armitage, Ashton, Earls, Tuilagi, McFadden, Flood, Care; Corbisiero, Hartley, Cole, Gray/Parling, Ryan, Robshaw, Wood, Morgan

Now, which ones would I really pick?

No joke but I would rather have Wallace on the plane than him!

Yeah, pretty much. Didn't do that great against Sale, but none of them did. Tbh, there's no shortage of serious players at Toulon Anglais who could do a job for the Lions. I'm gonna start the Shawsy bandwagon now.

As an Ulsterman I'd love to see Ferris start, but I doubt he'll make it through the Heinken cup & 6N.

If he doesn't, we've another genetic freak waiting - reckon Henderson may well bolt.

I hope Halfpenny is ok - I'd rather have him over North or Bowe.

Really? Why?
