Rumours on twitter that Tuilagi has pulled a hamstring in training. Not seen any reports, or even tweets from reliable sources, on it so I'm hoping it's just wishful thinking from people who want BOD on the bench...

If Tuilagi were to pull out I wonder if BOD would make the bench? If Gatland went with Gatland then I think the emerald isle might just implode, however (and I feel dirty saying it) I think I'd go with Cuthbert..... (or Hogg).

True enough, however, and I've said it before, Gatland's style of match-intensity training and then relying on cryo-therapy to keep players going seems to result in a lot more injuries for Wales (and now Lions) than you'd usually see.

Roberts has played a few games, and not been that great. He's also not been particularly stand out for Wales for the past few years.
He last looked genuinely world-class/one of the top centres in world rugby on the Lions tour in '09.

I am not having a go at England I was just making the point that AT THE MOMENT Wales are better ! Hence why there's more Welsh players in the squad ! If in four years time it's the other way around and its full of English players you want see me moaning ! I get behind the Lions cause that's what they are I don't care what Nationality they are, they are in because the coaches believe they are the best players we have ! All this the Welsh coach picks 10 Welshmen cause he knows them better rubbish is shocking ?

I totally agree with the squad being dominated by the Welsh boys as in the main the players there are pure quality and very few could argue with their selections. That said however I would go back to a thread posted some time ago in this long winded debate. The Lions are about what the best the 4 nations have to offer coming together for that rare opportunity. Combinations, who plays with who where will always drag the spirit of the lions into a dark place as that will inevitably mean that in some cases the best player is being left out too accommodate familiarisation between players, game plan or coaches. I dare say the vast majority of negative posts is to do with the BOD fiasco. Like it or not that is not what the Lions are about. If the best XV players fielded were all Welsh I would proudly stand there in my Lions shirt. I support all the home nations throughout all their international campaigns (except against England and in the SN of course) so nothing about any bias on my part.
Just simple...play the best players and win or lose the support will be there.

I think the selection can be summed up as Gatland retreating back into his comfort zone ie the Welsh squad. He wants to use tactics he knows with players he knows and I think that is all there is to it (apart from the case with Scots, I think he has sort of gone out of his way to screw them over.)

Lads I know this is probably false but on twitter a few are saying Tuilagi is out. Then saying he's in but all in all 1 thing has to be said all this ddivide and debate over team will do no good for lions who could be on to a hiding
