Worst town/city in the world.

Look, sod Port Talbot, nobody cares about Port Talbot and if the Soviets ever invaded they probably wouldn't even bother with the place as well. If the Soviet Union invaded tomorrow, Port Talbot would where the party would be for the British resistance.

Why hasn't anyone dumped on Birmingham or Stoke or Portsmouth?!

Philly is an absolute dive or so I hear from my mates who live there.

Johannesburg form the east rand, west rand, Midrand, Sandton, Hillbrow etc. It's by far the shittest city in SA and possibly the world. A real fooking slum and a sky high crime rate. **** traffic, **** people, **** roads and highways.[/b]

East rand is ****, so is the south and the city central. As far as you saying Sandton is a slum goes, i think that you need your eyes tested. Sandton is the greenest suburb on earth. Johannesburg also has the most trees of any city on earth, making it the largest urban forest in the world. I stay in the North, a suburb called Northriding, which is next to the Mouldersdrift hills, which are beautiful at sunset.

The west of Johannesburg has a place called Strubens valley, which is an entire suburb that is lodged in a valley. There are also many nice places around the hills with views over the entire City.

I took Steve-o atop Northcliffe Hill to see what the city looks like, and to have a different perspective of Johannesburg. It sure changed how he sees the place.

As far as crime goes, yes, Johannesburg has the most crime in the country, BECAUSE THE MOST PEOPLE LIVE THERE!!! Now, if you look at the ratio between city population and crime rates, Pretoria far surpasses Johannesburg. Pretoria also has the most racially provoked crimes in the country, because of it's Afrikaner population.

Every city in the world has some crap suburbs. Pretoria has Danville(omg), Sinnoville, the inner City, and Pretoria-noord is crap as well. So to call the entire place a slum is stupid. I have lived in both cities. You have obviously not lived in JHB. Hilariously funny how the richest square mile in Africa is a slum...

Vegas was a total dive, compounded by being in the middle of a bloody Desert too.

I knew you were gonna cry again Jericho. Pretoria along with Joburg is the largest planted/man made urban forest in the world. I also never said Sandton is a slum, I said it's ****. The west rand is ****, places like Randfontein, Krugersdorp etc. crap! The whole East Rand is crap no denying it places like Brakpan, Boksburg, Benoni etc. real fietas. Just like Danville and most of Pretoria-North I'm not going to deny it. The one thing that really grates me though is that and this goes for anyone, example: "Jis Danvile/Boksburg is such a siff place and the people that live there are low class". Then you ask him/her have you ever been to Danville/Boksburg? Answer No. Then STFU! I think you might be mistaken with Sinnoville though, it's quite a nice area.

JHB just like Pretoria has nice or affluent suburbs to live, Groenkloof, Garsfontein, Waterkloof, Sandton, Northcliff but these rich suburbs normally go hand in hand with violent crime unfortunalety. The worst to come out of both these cities though are Sunnyside and Hillbrow overrun by Nigerians, prostitutes and drugs.

Every city will have it's pros and cons, always. In the end it comes down personal choice and where you enjoy it the most. Home is where the hart is. Luckily I haven't lived in JHB nor do I ever want to.

The nicest city I've ever been to is probably Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

Note to TRF's South African users:

Thanks for making South Africa look as unattractive a destination as possible. Are you guys doing this deliberately to prevent as many Lions fans from making the trip down or what?

Exactly my point. I stayed in Hatfield, and in Centurion. As well as in Waterkloof. Hated all of them. Although Waterkloof has some really nice views. As far as the "I knew you were going to cry again" comment goes, grow up.

Lastly, Everywhere in South Africa is pretty ****. It's just a question of how far up the **** scale it is. The places are fantastic, and we have by far the best climate on the entire planet, as well as some of the most beautiful scenery. It's the people that are the problem. Urban blight annihilated this country. Sad, but true, and i don't hate PTA that much, i have just had really bad experiences there.

I was mugged twice, and some ******* broke into my girlfriends flat and shot her roommate twice. She survived, but is now unable to conceive. She is only 21. My girlfriend was also traumatized for months. She is still paranoid today, almost 3 years later. It wasn't just the crime. I'm a rugby fan, and games i watch at Loftus, i usually watch as a neutral spectator. So regardless of what happens, i clap at good play from the Bulls and whoever they play against. Now, if some Piet van Zyl sees me, he instantly wants to "moer" me with his biltong and horned mining hat.

Hatfield is another thing. It's a great place to hang out, provided you don't make eye contact with any of the hostiles. They tend to think that if you look at them you are instantly ready for a fight. Retarded. I cannot even count how many times i have had to defend myself there because some freakishly large Afrikaner wants to pork my girlfriend while i am there. I just got to a place where i said to her, let's just get the hell out of this crap place, and away from these people. So we moved to Johannesburg, and are happier than ever.

So you see, my saying the place sucks, is at least warranted. The one thing Pretoria does have, which i love, is the best Schoolboy rivalries in the country. Pretoria Boys High, Affies and Waterkloof... Awesome...

EDIT: All you Lions fans better come visit! I have a spare room in our flat, so, anyone lookin for some free accommodation, i would be happy to help! :p

I'm sure the tour guides won't take you to any unsafe places. The ticket prices for the Lions tour are way too steep though. :D

At Loftus they are. Ellis Park has a couple too. Don't know about the rest. It's usually the Afrikaners that are more 'violent' than the rest.

Ahaha, surely not an enjoyable experience, but thinking about it made me chortle endlessly.

One of my mates was born in SA, I remember when we stole his father's porn the guy was rather incensed at us, quite put out, he didn't have any billtong or a mining hat but for a fat blonde yarpie he sure did move fast.

Hey come on now, neither Pretoria nor Jo'burg is that ****. Jo'burg, as Jer1cho states, is very nice in the north and is the economic hub of Africa. While PTA has the 2nd most embassies in the world after Washington DC, and has the most parks and museums per capita in SA.

Crime is bad in both cites. Zimbabwe being 400km has compounded this. But is there a city in the world with low crime? I live in a small developing city, Richards Bay, and the crime here is bad as well! Here we have a problem with Malawians staying in greenbelt areas. Now that **** is scary.

As far as the worst city goes, for me Kimberly is a dump.

I agree about R-Bay, it's really beautiful here and the beach is lekker. The climate is great, it can be too hot here sometimes, but it rarely drops lower than 12 degrees.
Again crime, like so many places in SA, is what turns people opinions.

So i hope when everyone comes for the Lions tour we are going to paint all of these horrific places a bright *Insertbarfcolorhere*

We also have some cities here in Georgia where we never really want to go ;) ;)

Khashuri is one of them, and this f***in war made it even more Worst
