Worst town/city in the world.

I don't think anyone has ever made a conscious decision to go there. Although I hear from my Zimbabwean mate it was really nice before Mugabe went nuts.

Oh come on. There's been some good friendly banter in this thread, don't spoil it by going over the top.[/b]
f*** you.

I got off the train at Basingstoke once. The town centre is a sort of "Mines of Moria" shopping mall. I'm still lost, communicating with TRF through patchy wireless hotspots.

haha one of my best friends teaches in a 2ndry school there, she says its a shithole. they put her up in a flat that some dude was selling drugs out of, and she said he had a sword in his living room.

A Prestwick "dried meat" sword? Lucky hot teacher chick.

Basingstoke is awful. Just awful. Its one of those places where you have to follow a route that the town planners want you to follow else you just get lost or get muddy jeans/trousers.

For example, you're walking down a pavement on a main road which just suddenly ends and veers off westwards into a housing estate...but you want to get to the Tescos which is a further 500m up the road and across a set of pedestrian crossings. So you either continue on up on the grass verge or you take a long and utterly pointless detour through a residential area.

You've got whole roads in Basingstoke without pavements because they insist on trying to send you on little detours with no advantage whatsoever.

Ipswich, Queensland Australia, worst city in the world.

(I did go to school there for 6 years :p)
