The smile on Roman Abramovich before the presentation started, you just knew from then they had won before the reports of England's failed bid. It will be interesting to see how Russia deals with it. Personally still think there are issues there that need to be resolved, some of which cannot be.

at the same time, FIFA just confirmed its place just ahead of the Pakistani Cricket Board as the most corrupt organisation in world sport. I haven't been following any of the recent corruption scandals, but reading David Hills' Said & Done column in the Observer goes to show how almost everyone involved in running, coaching, playing, reporting or supporting football is some mixture of dishonest, corrupt, egotistical, hypocritical, greedy and violent.
