Right let me clear up my side of the story before people start thinking Im spreadind S**t. I was in a Gamestop shop recently and an EA rep said to him that the game was canned by EA because of lack of interest. When he told me I said it was a load of bull because rugby has never been so popular. I also stated that I thought Ubisoft were taking up the distribution of the game so what would EA know?
Anyway I want this game as bad as everyone here so I just stated what I heard and the guy in the shop was Pi**ed about it as well so he wasn't winding me up

For the last time guys, EA have nothing to do with this project. It is being developed solely by HB.

EA has been rumoring a game every year since 2008 and nothing has ever came of it. They said that they would release a game for the World Cup and yet again it goes up in smoke. 2KSports were rumored to start a Rugby franchise after EA dropped, again nothing came of it. Midway were another developer looking to go into Rugby games but now that Midway is on its back we wont get anything from that.

Oh don't get me wrong its a step in the right direction by saying that they are going out and making the game, BUT as far as i can see at the moment all this game has is a name and nothing else. Until i see some progress i'm not going to hold on to the hope that its going to be released any time soon but overall i really hope it does.

what anoyes me is that I put Rugby Challenge in You Tube and got a video straight up of them making the game with players faces and stadiums come on HB fight back I want this game to blow me away

I spoke to Alastair from HB Studios myself about both our projects earlier this week (we are both at the same conference). Rugby 2012 isn't cancelled or on hold, and both companies are looking forward to seeing what the other has to offer up.

Seriously, I'm not complaining, and I'm glad to see that camaraderie still exists in this greedy gaming industry.
