Seriously though. Its not even up for negotiation until 2015 so its hardly worth worrying about now. Its political posturing at worst, incompetence in front of the press at best.

Exactly ... a lot can happen between now and 2015 ... I think it's political posturing/trying to establish a better negociating position, with a bit of diversion from other issues thrown in
