What are you listening to?

Evanescence? UUggghhh
That "nu-metal" ****e era was full of terrible bands and spawned the likes of Evanescence, Creed, LifeHouse, Nickleback, LimpBizkit etc.

Just awful, awful music.
All ripped off bits of grunge with an addition of either one of, or or a mix of: a rap section, turntable or an extra singer.

LUCKILY, Queens of the Stone Age are back to save rock music with a new album ( called ...like clockwork).

I recommend you guys give it a listen.
It's proper Rock music.

Loving this band. They're getting bigger now (playing Glastonbury etc), but started listening to them about a year ago.

Same.
Quite like Creed, too - more for Mark Tremonti, though, hence my borderline obsession with Alter Bridge (and to a lesser extent the Tremonti Project).

Dislike QotSA, think their boring and their sound (guitar tones, singer etc.) offends my ears.

They are widely disliked (even hated) in Canada, their first album got decent reception but than they started to get played a lot to the point of overkill because of our content laws and most of their subsequent material is at best background music, I don't really blame them but Rock is really in the dumps these days, they wouldn't have been playing at a bar in the 70's-80's. Grunge is what killed rock music, I blame Nirvana and the city of Seattle for this travesty and believe they should both be nuked from orbit...just to be safe.

@ Olyy and Iain.....do you like them as in tolerate in car radio or like as in own albums and go to concerts?

He might be a little eccentric but this gem by Nugent represents everything I miss about old rock, long solo's and instrumentals, complicated chords....eight minutes long epic.

I'm not a concert person, only ever been to 1 gig, Oasis in Cardiff so won't see them live but thats more my reasons. I just like their music, its harmless. Plus when it came out "Burn it to the Ground" was my mates and my "were going to get ratarsed" song.

Was watching XMen First Class tonight and forgot how good the end credits song is

Well I guess there is no accounting for taste (or lack there of)

Alterbridge & Creed... wow

BTW; QOTSA don't have a "sound" really, their songs are very diverse.

Same cannot be said CreeAlterHouseBack

Iain, your music tastes had me worried until the most recent video, then all was OK.

Nickleback suck, but I'll straight up own to genuinely liking Linkin Park.

I also like these guys. Possibly the best band you've never heard of - probably the best live act you've never seen

Nickelback have a bunch of great songs - I hate all the blanket statements made about bands. I thought it was only the internet population under 15 who hated Nickelback due to them jumping on the bandwagon. The number of times I've seen people say they hate Nickelback but lover Foo Fighters is hilarious.

But yeah, the bands/singers etc. with the most songs on my phone are Nickelback, Lifehouse, Taylor Swift and the Goo Goo Dolls. Also a bunch from Daughtry, Keane, Needtobreathe etc...

uh...yeh...nickelback and...s......such.....uhm. Good points there uh.....

Heaven almighty we're bored as **** !!...

Well that was terrible. It's like a bunch of 15yr olds trying to be as edgy as possible.

Currently listening to a lot of Gojira, gearing up for Bloodstock in a few weeks.

You are now officially dead to me.

That reference is pretty lost on me. See them as more like this

edit: And if you don't like Converge, then, well...

I just meant they're both stereotypical mischord-laden-angry-at-my-dad music.
