What are you listening to?

RIP Peter Brotzman

If your extreme tech death metal isn't extreme enough:

Or if you like your metal a bit more mellow, you could try his son Casper:

Saw Blur at the weekend. Stunning gig, promptly got home and broke the headstock on my Epiphone Es - 335 doing a Graham Coxon 😂

If you're into deathcore/metalcore this is one of the best live sets on YouTube - which is mad considering it was recorded by a random podcast at some function room in a hotel in Sydney

And for a complete change of pace from my usual postings: Obscure Metal

And then on a completely different note:

Like irony? If so, here's one for you. Walter Scott (bottom of the picture next to the bass drum), the lead singer of this song called "The Cheater" was murdered for cheating on his wife, who herself was cheating on him. She talked her other man into whacking her husband. Well, she ended up going to prison for five years after turning state's evidence and her other man died in prison of a heart attack. He got a life sentence, so his heart attack saved the state of Missouri some $$.

loving this album of jazz meets African music at the moment. non-standard rhythms and polyrhythms, great improvisation, insane musicians vibing (pun intended) off each other with subtle touches to change or tease/ suggest for a change in direction, then the changes are great when they happen. complex yet easy to listen to, repetitive enough to help you go into a trance but not boring because there is so much going on in the subtleties. can take you somewhere else without too much effort on your part (but put in the effort and it's even better)
