Warm Up Match 5: Maori All Blacks v British & Irish Lions (Rotorua)

This is very close to the test 15 now. Henshaw at 12 maybe, Williams or Daly on the wing instead of North?

Really winning the battle up front and stopping the Maori back line getting any decent ball. Keep it up Lions.

McKenzie ffs ****. Wtf are you doing there.

At flyhalf? Yeah mental. :p

Good of the Maori to play Lowe, NMS and McKenzie all out of their first choice positions to give the Lions a chance. They should not be judged on it.

I think the ref is having a fine game personally. Nothing wrong with softly softly as long as it is consistent. Card happy refereeing ruins matches.

Lions utterly dominant up front as expected. Game is safe. For the love of all that is holy may they try and cut loose a little.

Maori's don't have any answer to the grunt. Happy to have honed what is usually just considered to be strengths of the Lions, defence, territory, maul, scrum, line out.

Agree that the Lions will need trys as well, but getting the basics right may provide a platform for it.

These rules have been in place in the SH since the start of the year, so throughout Super Rugby.
Thankyou - I'd thought they were announced late in Feb, so too soon for Super rugby. Obviously got myself confused in there.

I really dont understand how Te'o starts has he done anything all game?

Yeah Teo's been good, part of an excellent midfield defence among other things.

Think Henshaw is a much better player, but Teo has been better on this tour. On a Lions tour you don't have time to play the long game, you've got to go with form in the immediate term, is it's not a 2 playmaker model then Teo should start 12.
