Warm Up Match 1: New Zealand Barbarians v British & Irish Lions (Whangarei)

For an open game, Joseph has been poor. Not had much good ball to use, but hasn't got himself involved at all really.

Does the 1st match ever end as anything other than "a hard fought win that sets the pace for the tour"? I can't see many of these combos playing again really.

Now I would probably prefer if they blew their lead just to force a reaction from them. Bloody pathetic

Warbs off, I hope this doesn't mean AWJ is captain or the barbarians players will be making our calls for us

In terms of the backs, my biggest worry has been the chase. NZ are fantastic under the high ball and you don't give them opportunities to run at you. Watson has generally run well personally, but I think Seymour has been a little slower and not putting enough pressure on.

Right decision for the posts.

Amazed that Farrell missed.

So Sexton looks to have blown his Test spot early on in the tour, looks like Farrell and Biggar to fight for the 10 shirt, Falatau nailed on

of course Sexton hasn't blown it for the tests already, but that's 2 very poor games in a row from him which is worrying. He's got a lot to do to re-convince me that he's a better option than Farrell now.
