What do you think of the wallabies backline? what should it be for upcoming tests? whos in form and who shouldnt be there?
here's my pick

9: Burgess
10: Giteau
11: Tiquiri
12: Barnes
13: Mortlock
14: Mitchell
15: Ashley-Cooper

I wish Mark Gerrard could be in there but he's always injured. Maybe Turner should be in there, but his speed is overated i think, still a good player tho and probably faster then tiquri or mitchell but our wingers really lack speed compared to the likes of NZ with sivivatu or SA with habana. Also maybe have Mitchell at fullback cos i really rate his kicking game but AAC seems to be in form lately, However i dont watch as much rugby as i'd like too, mainly only international tests n internet highlights :(

so what do u guys think?

Also i love quade coopers ability, his steps are amazing n some good passes n offloads, even tho he f***s up A LOT !.. After more experience im sure he'll become (cos he clearly isnt yet) a great player, gotta watch out for him. I dislike ryan cross cos he looks slow n seems to lack intensity altho i havent seen much of him, but i dont think he deserves to be there we have better players i thnk

Gerrard has gone to Japan so he's not eligible...

I'd say our form backline would be, and the one Deans is most likely going to select for France -

9. Burgess
10. Giteau
11. Mitchell
12. Barnes
13. Mortlock
14. Turner
15. Ashley-Cooper

Tuqiri has fallen out of favour and he's playing absolutely crap in the Sydney club competition... this week he was completely outplayed by Mitchell, and last week West Harbour fans were calling for him to be benched...

Has Tahu been playing with Tuqiri?

Mate where the f*** is Tahu? He was such an incredible player in rugby league. In my opinion he should have been given a crack against Italy or the Barbarians, now it's too late for him to prove anything. Such a waste of talent..

If Ioane was fit I'd say that Tahu would be 5th best choice for outside centre... at best...

I watched Cross and Tahu in the NRL for years and the latter is by far a better player. I know that's rugby league, but he has a lot of potential and it's not going to be realised if he never gets a game. His chances were very limited with the Waratahs. I'm still backing him to be a strong candidate for the 12 or 13 jersey come the next world cup, bar injuries.

Tahu is probably more suited to outside centre, and looked pretty good for the Tahs at the end of the season... but currently he's well behind Mortlock, Cross, Ioane and Ashley-Cooper... and honestly, I don't see him being a top class international like so many other converts...

The ARU should stop wasting money on ex-leaguies who are past it. There are better players who should be getting the money he's on that have proven their worth in union eg Ioane not bloody league.

Tahu was a rep winger when he was picked for Australia and NSW too.

Well yeah obviously priority should go to guys like Ioane, and I'd hope that Tahu is on little more then what he was earning in league. But if he plays week in week out for the Tahs next year I reckon he can easily surpass Cross and AAC in the outside centre position.

9. Genia

11. Mitchell
12. Mortlock
13. Gasnier
14. O'Connor
15. Ashleigh/Cooper

No thanks...

13. Cross

true that hahaha...kicking kicking, waiting for scrums to hold, waiting for lineouts to form, waiting to see a speedy elusive winger so we can see him 'kick' the ball, refferees interpretations and oh yeah a bit of rugby...

Despite all that I still love Rugby Union :) :)

9. Genia
10. Barnes
11. Digby
12. Giteau
13. Ashley-Cooper
14. Mitchell
15. O'Connor

I wouldnt hesitate to give Gasnier a go if he came to the Super 14. You guys are awefully small in the backs. And Ryan Cross just doesnt do it for me.

Cross' defence isn't very good... and Gasnier has been ok in France... mostly playing on the wing...

Most league converts tend not to do well in the centres...

I think danger's last post is pretty spot on... Giteau/Barnes interchangeable at flyhalf/inside centre...

hey Fushi did you see O'Connor against the all blacks?..

maybe the wing is good for him, I counted bout 4 or 5 mistakes from him 2 of them led to us (NZ) scoring..i.e walking outside the 22 and kicking it out on the full dont think Mitchell would have done that..

Im just reffering to your post saying..O'Connor on the wing??? No thanks

Not trying to sound like an 'I told you so', but geez why not O'Connor on the wing might be the case now anyway after Saturday night.
