Wales vs BaaBaas

Its disappointing the stance they have taken, but there we are have to move on im afraid.

Yeah, we do. It is simply inconvenient to our World Cup preparations.
Makes sense why Gatland doesn't want to deal with them.

I don't want to be negative towards the PRL or I will incur the wrath of Bullitt  ... in seriousness, its nothing short of a farce.

Never! He'll come over and smash your legs.
They (PRL) are about as incompetent as those involved in the Magners League.
A British league would be totally shambolic.

A British League would be worst run tournament you will ever see

Slag the PRL off all you want. All of Rugbys governing bodies are equally retarded.

Scott Johnson is named backs coach for the Barbarians ... oh dear.

Australian rugby league international Willie Mason will make his union debut when the Barbarians face England at Twickenham next weekend, according to a report in the Australian media.
The 31-year-old has already agreed a lucrative deal to follow his former league team mate Sonny Bill Williams by crossing codes with French club Toulon, the report on the Sydney Morning Herald's website (www.smh.com.au) said.
"Mate, I'm just so excited to be playing rugby, and I'm looking forward to the challenge ... I've certainly jumped in the deep end in agreeing to play for the Barbarians without having any rugby experience," he was quoted as saying.
"If you ask all the boys, I've always told them I've wanted to have a crack at rugby, and I've always been the type to jump in at the deep end, and I'm ready to try the best I can to make an instant switch."
British league club Hull Kingston Rovers announced in a terse statement on Saturday that Mason had left "with immediate effect" just a couple of months into his contract.
On Monday, the Barbarians will finalise their squad for the matches against England next Sunday and Wales the following week with Sergio Parisse, Martyn Williams, George Smith, Carl Hayman and Doug Howlett already confirmed.
Born in New Zealand to a Tongan mother, Mason grew up in Australia and won 24 caps as a forward for the Kangaroos but is likely to emulate All Black Williams by playing at inside centre in union.
"I got in touch with Sonny and had a bit of a crack at him," Mason added. "Because he holds all the records in the testing procedures over here, and they compare me to him in that area.
"They know we played together in Australia, and Sonny is a bit of a legend over here in France, so I have plenty to live up to."
The big-hitting Mason had talks over a move to union with the New South Wales Waratahs four years ago and again pondered the switch in 2009 when Japanese clubs were the target.
The report said he had signed a three-year deal to play alongside England flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson and Wallabies back Matt Giteau at Toulon next year.
"I've just got to learn how to play rugby in a hurry and how to speak French because I don't know a word yet, and they say it's not that easy to pick up," he was quoted as saying.
Mason has been involved in his fair share of controversial off-field incidents, including being fined by his club for urinating in public in 2009.

He'll get done up a treat if he plays, though looking at the team sheet it's hard to see where he'd fit in
Unless Barbarians are going to play very different teams against England and Wales (which would make sense as, for example, Howlett and Hayes will have played the Magners Final the day before England)

Final Barbarians list of players goes up tomorrow apparently.

I'm still not convinced by Stoddart,
I know his defence has improved but I still don't think he's up to international FB standard - I remember a Scarlets game, can't remember against who, about a month or so ago, he was at FB the opposition winger was going in in the corner, was the easiest tackle to make to get him into touch and Stoddart just ran into him and bounced off and the winger got the try

Suppose this is the game to test him though, he's going to have some big guys running at him in Mason, Bastareaud, Rabini, Visser

Would not be surprised if someone does get called up to replace Shane.

Czekaj, James, or Fussell probably.
If only Will was fit, he'd destroy the Barbarians...

My 22 for the match. A few too many Turks on the bench, but nothing I can do about it ;)

Can't disagree with Draggs's team. i think possibly they may try Ryan in the second row??? saying that the ospreys do that, and all the moaning thats gone on between wales and the o's, i can't seem them agreeing on his best position. In some ways i'm glad shane has been ruled out, i didn't want to see him get played to be honest. He's to valuable to be playing in a one off game like this, he needs to be fully fit for the world cup. I hope Gav gets the nod with Davies in the centres, that should be very interesting. Definitely wetting my appetite already. I don't think stoddard should be anywhere near the welsh team. People say his attack is his strength, but he doesn't pass. I'd rather see Gav there than him (best position is 12 and thats where he should play though). Brew and North on the wings does seem very "big" in relation to Halfpenny and Shane, so it should be interesting to see the gameplan. OMPH can't wait for official announcement laterz, although i think Draggs will be almost 100% correct :D

Stories emerging is that Bevington will likely start at 1.
