U20 6 Nations 2017- Stars of the Future: If there's grass on the pitch play ball

The commentator at half time said "do we give credit to England for what happened in the last 15 minutes ?" ........ errrrrr yep considering Wales quite rightly got the plaudits in the first 20 ....

Agreed. Mercer looks like a man playing against boys.

This is scrum V, they are loath to ever give England credit for anything, even when it is as sublime as our 2nd try. Particularly liked "everyone knows what's coming here" only for England to not do it. I wish just for once though England wouldn't take 15 minutes before they actually start playing...

England back 3 not coordinating well for the high ball, misreading the flight, and just looking poor there.
Umaga's passing game is not sympathetic at all.

Mercer a man amongst boys, and that same back 3 very threatening when they actually have the ball.
Randall looks talented, which makes a lovely change for Eng U20 SHs
Eng 5 looks a real leader on the pitch, but Zach is the one who seems to have read the plays and made the changes necessary.

I think this is a seriously talented England side.

I don't think the side than won last year were particularly impressive.

Bearing in mind we normally look considerably better in the JWC, this bodes well.

Can you imagine what guys like Odogwu would be doing?

Would like to see Grayson get a run out at 10.

Umaga needs to work on his defence, he is an excellent passer but his defence is a big weakness. (Was smashed by Simmonds for his try against wasps in the AWC and he has missed a lot of tackles this half against Wales).

He isn't a 10 (Tigers played Hardwick @10 and Umaga @12 in the academy) but defence needs to be his main focus currently IMO.

Feel some people have hyped up Umaga too much currently at this level.

Outside that Randall Mercer combo is excellent. There are so far ahead of the rest of the players.

You have the likes of
Curry number 2
Evans
Maunder
Shillcock
TBC
Odogwu
Malins
Etc
That is a huge amount of talent for this level.

put a proper FH in there, and an improvement at FB, and this team will be going very nicely. A Mallinder, TBC or Shillock would make this a non-contest

I agree with all of that. Given that a number of the better/more experienced players are missing too, we seem to be building an excellent squad.

Add Malins back in along with Brophy-Clews, Shillcock, Odogwu, Ben Curry and possibly Evans as well, that's a hugely talented squad.

u20's scrum halves normally look like dog****e for some reason. Jack Maunder could be playing too.

Isiekwe's (number 5) really good.

Lots of half time BS re. the seniors from these BBC Wales commentators ...

Isiekwe is 4. Clegg is wearing the 5 shirt.

So he is...

12 of these guys will be eligible next year too, apparently.

Well about half of the squad were last years U18s

Yep, not too many from last year retained either.

Shame to see Earl go off, looks precautionary more than anything.

With his size, no matter if he got caught his momentum would have taken him over.

This ref is laughable.

Sin binning an english player whilst letting Wales get away with constant infringements.

We've done something to piss him off.
Isn't it usually more than 10m between the 10 yard line where the tap was taken (ish) and the 22 where the tackle was made?
