U20 6 Nations 2017- Stars of the Future: If there's grass on the pitch play ball

If we lose this, we should take the blame for butchering so many chances.

However the sin binning was right, but to let Wales get away cynical infringements constantly with nothing.

So do all SHs, on principal. Especially if they're playing well

Another sin bin, where were these when the Welsh were being cynical?

Bloody hell Mercer is good.

Welsh chaser held back the entire way chasing that kick, creating space for Mercer. Shocking that the linesman didn't pick that up!

Yeh I saw that but thought maybe he was trying to even up all the crap calls he's made against England ! Haha

To be honest though, the ref missed an incident in the first half where a player to the 9 out. Let Wales get a way with some cynical penalties and not see a yellow. First yellow I agree with, the second I would if the ref was being consistent.

End of the day, the better team is winning.

When was that? I've been in and out of this game to be fair so haven't seen everything, did see one tackle where the Welsh flanker got the 9 when he had the ball in his hands? Not sure if he'd picked the ball or just had hands on though.

Oh not denying that the better team is winning, just saw a bit of a blatant blocking. Not been super impressed by the ref. He really doesn't seem to care whether the attacking team stay on their feet at the ruck, or if they come in from the side either. Makes for a bit of a free for all at the breakdown.

Ref calls against England weren't wrong, it's just that he let Wales get away with SO much that it makes relatively correct reffing of one side seem completely unfair. Wales got away with tons of cynical **** in their own 22 without even a warning. The number of not straight line out throws by Wales was laughable, constant scrum wheeling and pretty much every infringement in the book at the breakdown. He was reffing 1 side.

Commentators were ****. It's possible to support a team without being a completely partisan gob****e. They were right though when he said the Ref doesn't like to blow his whistle much, just forgot to say when it is Wales that are infringing. That is right up there with Walsh in 2013 for reffing 1 side.

First half alone, 2 that come to mind was a deliberate knock on in the 22 on an England attack and a prop picking up the ball on the wrong side of the ruck. Again it was a quick ball try scoring opportunity. At least one should have been carded.

Mercer head and shoulders above everyone else, looks like a great player. The variety to his game was great, carrying, beating defenders, offloading, passing before contact, awesome display.

Wales' kicking game was a shambles. They were lucky England were so poor under the ball in the first quarter, and were themselves even worse when they put boot to ball.

Deserved victory for England in the end, even though other than Mercer they were a little all over the place.

They were ... it was a really odd performance . Once England started scoring tries at the end of the first half I thought the flood gates would open but then all the inconsistencies came back from the start of the game .... other than purple patches I though England were fairly poor tbh

I see the ladies match in a couple of hours is also on BBC2 Wales; just like the kids last night.
Do we do a separate thread? repurpose this one? or use this afternoon's match thread?
