Interesting. Anyone know what type of player he is, other than being f***ing huge! What's his fitness, skillset and defence like? Scarlets could have an interesting backrow next season, something like 06 Aaron Shingler, 07 Jon Barcley, 08 Opeti Fonua. I think most bases are covered with that trio, pace and skill from Shingler, breakdown presence and tackling from Barclay and power from Fonua.

Looking at some youtube clips now. Looks pretty mobile as well.

This could be a great signing if true, just the sort of player the Scarlets need to put them on the front foot up front from time to time. If they can sign a couple of winger to replace North and Fenby then they might not be in as bad a shape next season as I once feared. Still lacking in strength in depth in most areas though.

The only information on it that I've seen was on a French website, which reported to have gotten the info from an Oz newpaper, the Sydney Herald I think it was is. I couldn't find any mention of it on said newspaper's website though. I'd take it with a grain of salt - Gill is only young and will be a long term Wallaby if he hangs around, so I can't imagine he'll be going anywhere any time soon.

That's what I thought too, it's The Australian that's carrying the story (albeit just mentionning it in miscelaneous articles):

I guess the planets would have to align in a very odd way to make this happen, but it owuld mostly depend on the money (SF have already spent a lot for next season) and on whether he's in the squad for the Lions or not. He's only 20, so even if he goes for 2 years or so, he can play 2 or 3 more WC.

I would agree it was in the rugby paper so not the strongest of sources, but We have lost 3 props including a top earner think him or Cole are marquee , and 45k or something from the ford deal, so got some good room in the cap. fingers crossed.
