Transfers rumours

I guess it depends whether Hatherell feels like he has an outside shot with England or not?

I wouldn't be too bothered about Jones leaving. He's had a couple of good moments, but a lot more that have been outright poor. With Anyanwu, Beard and Hyde in our academy, I'd sooner save the money.

He any good these days?
I remember him slowly improving over the years but never really looking amazing
Not seen him in France

EQP tightheads are hard to come by, could be a decent target to replace Oosthuizen...
I've always rated him highly, his 2nd stint at Falcons he was fantastic and when he broke through with England in 2014/15 he was a destructive scrummager (demolished the All Blacks scrum from the bench a few times) but then had a poor RWC but then did so everyone.

Went to Saints we're he started well then the curse of Saints scrummaging woes hits and his form drops off a cliff and Eddie doesn't fancy him for England. Goes to Wasps and is the cornerstone of the pack that gets to the Prem final as JTA can't scrum.

He isn't the best around the field (his hands let him down too much) but he's a 125kg tighthead who'll lock out the scrum and if you pair him with a good pack you'll be dominant at set piece.

He's a strong scrummager to say the least and was much fitter towards the end. Much like @Mr Burns says, he will make your scrum solid and tackles well.

With so few strong tightheads out there, he would be a good addition.

In wasps news, rumours are that we are aligned to acquire Burger Odendaal (Lions Captain & Centre). Strong links to Mitchell who he was coached by at the Bulls

Calm down everyone, Brookes problem was that outside the scrum he was soooo lazy. He always did well when he moved clubs for a short while but always dropped off the boil.

I wouldn't ever have him back.

That was definitely my first thought when I saw his name, tbh
Had a lot of potential early on but never really lived up to it on any consistent basis

I'm guessing Oosthuizen is on a considerably wage, though, so if we can replace him with Brookes*, even if he's lazy it'd be a good trade

*this isn't rumoured or anything, just me thinking about us needing a tighthead

How's Schonert doing with you guys?

Michael Leitch to Outer Mongolia (yes, I enjoyed typing that).

Wut

That's....interesting!

Pretty cool, though - didn't realise Rugby was popular there/growing so fast,
They have a strong wrestling culture so could carry across into the sport like it has in Eastern Europe/Russia

What is he.. 34? there's 100% an Ealing/Doncaster etc in him for next season whoever gets promoted
