Transfers rumours

Rumours on Wasps forum that Elliot Daly's considering his future, clause in his contract that if certain promises aren't met regarding facilities etc then he can leave, apparently Sarries have been made aware...

Huw Jones ----> Tigers

Ouch. Glasgow lost Finn, now Jones and Hogg. Makes me wonder if the Warriors is a happy camp or if it is all about money. I know Finn may have left in part due to how his father was dismissed by the SRU and Rennie seems very likeable, so I can't think he has lost the dressing room.

I think there is a slight worry about how long Rennie will stay at Glasgow on top of better longer contracts elsewhere it's hard to really compete.
Even 3 years contract for only 30K more = £120,000 extra.

He would be very expensive, prob the first name on the team sheet, sarries already have some big names in williams farrell skelton and pretty much the england pack. Not sure who he'd go.

Hopefully wherever he goes (if he goes) he'll be used as a FB

He'd be expensive but Sarries do have the strength in depth to trim a couple to cover Daly's salary if needs be, there may be a few teams in the prem better suited to bring him in Leicester and Bath if Tuilagi or JJ leave would be ideal but going off the guy's who posted on the Wasps forum they mentioned Sarries were already keeping tabs on his situation...

So teletext quotes Dave Rennie as saying he'll be staying on at Glasgow for at least 12 more months. I did like the theory, but I think we can rule that out as being a factor behind the mini Glasgow exodus now.

1 year is nothing though really and not a very big long term commitment.

I don't think he is too blame I think Scottish rugby can't afford to match these big 3/4 year deals and instead hope their 1/2 year deals at 50K+ less will keep some players in which it won't on the whole.

He was interviewed for the Wales HC role and so Glasgow must know he won't be around for the long haul. He's one of the best coaches in world rugby. I'm hoping that Townsend gets the Lions gig and Rennie is asked to coach Scotland for a year in his absence. Wishful thinking perhaps although I do see a bit of a head coach merry go round after the WC.

Paddy Jackson ----- Clermont

Apparently he has become disgruntled with the lack of depth in the Perpignan bench and fading away in games. He complained to the club who got pissy with him, leading Clermont to inquire about his availability and recieve a positive response.

Good money and the right level of rugby for a player of his quality

Schmidt announcement expected today. Widely tipped for a role in the AB's coaching set up which surely has to be head coach. This would explain why he waited until this week to announce - after the AI's and gives two months to digest before the 6N. Wonder where this leaves Hansen - might be NH bound.

Breaking news - Farrell to replace Schmidt. Lancaster as his assistant? :)

Quite honestly, that's the right way round to have them. They also both seem to have learned and improved since their time with England - good on them; and I genuinely hope it works out for you - and see no reason why it shouldn't.
Once Farrell Jr has retired from playing, I'd be happy to have them both back for England again (unless it all goes pair shaped for them, of course)

"I've enjoyed my time at Ireland immensely, the boys have made my time here a joy and the supporters are alright I guess, but the opportunity to coach a team like Leicester Tigers was too great to pass up." - Joe Schmidt probably

In other news: Ireland to start playing in white and are replacing the shamrock with a red rose
The irony is ye sacked them and threw them out. And now since then England had 1 good year under Jones but Lancaster has improved his reputation with Leinster and Farrell has became a world class coach. (He was before but now to a new level) and gets his head coach role.

Have no fear Andy will do well. Lancaster and Jerry Flannery are the 2 rumoured to eventually join current ticket. But that only rumours. And I've no fear this will be a smooth transition

Easy to **** on the the decision in hindsight, when it was exactly the right thing to do at the time.
Knocked out in the group's in a home world cup and completely lost the changing room through Farrell and Lancaster's inability to work together/Farrells hatred of Lancaster.

A couple of good seasons at a club with a **** load of talent won't fix the sheer passionately disliking I have for Lancaster.

English rugby had a golden chance to help project the game and he failed big style.

Got to respect Joes decision. I live in Wigan and I know a lot of people would want Farrell back at Wigan sometime in the future. He has done really well with Ireland. A good appointment imo.

No but I meant it as in both never really got kept within English rugby. Like we had Andy here in Munster 2 days a week at start of his time and I remember thing WOW he is good. How isn't he been prized away somewhere.
Lancaster is a great development coach and smart guy. Why wasn't he sought after either.
Like Leinster picked him up but it was known he is a good coach. Certainly worth a gamble more than some head coaches in England and France
