Transfers rumours

With the rumours around Kvesic and Moriarty likely to head back to Wales, they could find themselves needing to make big changes in their back row

JJ Hanrahan back to Munster. Hasn't developed an inch in two years, but 10 options are good I suppose. As I said when he moved, he was a fool to move to Northampton, and whoever his agent is has some serious questions to answer.

We at Northampton love ruining young talented fly halves.

Once ruined we return to their original club half the player they were. All the time sticking with average Mr Myler. What a joke

re: Kvesic, something that might not mean a jot, who knows, but Kvesic came off the bench twice in 2013-14, once in 2014-15, four times in 2015-16... right now he's on a string of games where he was subbed in the 44th minute against Sale, subsequently dropped from the Falcons game, came off the bench for both Bath (only got 8 minutes!) and Exeter and is about to come off the bench in the next game. That's a 5 game sequence where the coaches have not shown confidence...

Maybe he's carrying a minor knock that is affecting performance or something. IDK.

Kalamafoni, Morgan and Evans all looking to be out of contract too.

Just on the potential Exeter move... remember he played on that tour to Argentina with Baxter as coach, and this summer on the Saxons tour with Hepher as coach.

Performing outstandingly well both times - so the Exe coaches have seen first hand what he's capable of; and he, they.

Watson def sounds like he is interested in NFL.

Would be interesting to see when he might target a switch.

Will be 25 after the 2019 RWC.

Why would they want him?
Surely there's a ton of players coming through college football who are as quick and elusive, wouldn't need to adjust to the new sport and would cost less.

If/when they start a London franchise, Osi has already said they'd want to get some British players - during the RWC last year he said he had 2 or 3 rugby players in mind.

Tony is the obvious guy.

Better question is why Watson would want to leave a secure career in Rugby to play NFL where he'd probably be cut within 4 months as he's up against equally good athletes who know the game.

Because he could make a ridiculous amount of money as a promo tool for the NFL (this is assuming a London team). Even if he only did it for one season and barely played.

You are aware of just how much more money they get paid?

Increase international coverage.

Not sure about cost less Rookies are still on decent money in the NFL.

As said Osi has def been looking at rugby players as Rats said.

Becuase in say 4 years time he has prob earnt enough to afford a risky move.

I mean Hayne didn't suffer money wise moving back to League after his failed NFL trip.

Literally can't see any risk for him really.

The current NFL minimum salary is roughly £350k... that's almost certainly more than Anthony is making now.

OBJ - for comparison's sake, has earned just shy of £7m over three seasons in salary alone - not taking into account other earnings.

- - - Updated - - -

Also - he has an American girlfriend and several cousins that play elite college football.

French press saying that Fearns has told Lyon he is returning to England. Leaicester likely destination.

Wonder if Eddie Jones has had a word with him he fits the Haskell mould in terms of Agression and is 2 years younger than him. Certainly could see him getting in the squad.

The Americans churn out better athletes than Watson by the ton, all of whom have been playing NFL since they could walk. Lawrence Okoye is a stunning athlete even by American standards whose failed to make the grade at a string of clubs but the sting in the tail is that he's allegedly earned quite nicely for failing.

Have you read all the posts I made?

I'm clearly talking about his worth as a PR tool for any London/UK based franchise - Osi (who is likely to be heavily involved in any expansion over here) has said he's interested several times.
It doesn't seem disingenuous either.

Apparently Fearns is off to Sarries, not Tigers.

Same poster saying Ford is likely off end of season to Tigers or stains

Not sure how on the money he is on Fearns but when it comes to Bath he is spot on generally from what I gather.

Prob true although doesn't make as much sense really for Fearns IMO.
