Transfers rumours

That's because they get to go and actually play instead of being stuck in an academy, on loan to a championship side that is more than likely fighting relegation.
Which means they can actually practice their rugby skills, outside of the basic winter repertoire, at a high pace on relatively firm tracks.

True. Academy guys in England have the A league (a bit rubbish and short) and the LV as their only real outlet.

Pyle is a quality lock, been outstanding for the Rebels forever good addition to any squad, should have been a Wallaby last year.

The issue here is that the A league isn't really taken seriously, and the LV can't decide whether it's a development tournament for English and Welsh clubs - or an Anglo-Welsh cup.
I think we should have one or the other, and use whichever one as a development league with Academy quotas (5 Academy players - 3 start 2 on bench for example).

Yep I know Leicester and one other club voted for the A league to be a full proper league system but the other clubs voted against it at the time, cant remember the other club.

But I think now that more clubs are getting stronger depth it could be a good idea. have a minimum amount of Academy players, it also allows clubs to give players from long term injury game time. Most clubs give free A league tickets to members and season tickets anyway.

The issue is the LV though... it's a completely unnecessary tournament unless it is acting as a development league - which it isn't (not properly anyway).
Having both dilutes the quality as a spectacle and as a development tool.

Make the A league a proper league and it gives youngsters so much more time and confidence. I know a couple of Sarries youngsters like Itoje, Hankin, Ransom, Spencer would benefit greatly from playing every week against other academy/young players. It would also help players who have long term injuries come back other a length of time, e.g Croft could come back and play 4 A games instead of 1 back-up team game and train for 4 weeks, he's game sharp and fit.

Would love to see Pyle move to Ulster. We're missing a second row with muller gone

Muller has been replaced. Ulster can't announce the signing due to legal reasons however, should be allowed to do so soon. I think. Lock and a utility back.

This is probably the wrong place to put it - but don't want to make a new thread for it...anyone have any idea what happened to Rhys Llewellyn?

Was a very impressive centre for the New Zealand U20 team of 2011 - but haven't heard of him really since...Seeing as he was born in Wales I thought there was a chance he'd moved back...

Played ITM Cup and NZ 7s in 2012, pretty difficult to get google to tell me more than that. Probably not going back to Wales though. Maybe an injury? Seems to have bust his foot summer of 2013 playing sevens for Awanui.

Don't have names sadly. Anthony Boric has been a rumour for the lock position for ages but no idea if its true.
