Transfers rumours

Bloody hell man at least say where you found it so I can track it down quicker.

It's speculation on boards with no concrete foundation. That rumour has come up once before and been firmly scotched, wouldn't put any credence in it without real evidence.

That said...

Eoin Griffin Connacht -> Leinster? Not Munster, expected to stay in Ireland...
Sean O'Hagan Connacht -> Ulster

Was on boards and few others. People saying it was for McGrath to get game time and well Healy is in way with Jack O'Connell really ready too. Also Ulster have so many young backs that well Payne going would allow him play 13. As I said in original post it's more than likely just hearsay.

Can nearly confirm Griffin isn't coming to Munster anyway but I've a feeling if he went to Leinster it could be another Fionn Carr scenario

I am incredibly not sold on this move

Mate, the bloke is a class player. It will only add to the squads depth and competition for places.

Seriously though, I wasn't suggesting that Burgess wouldn't be capable of shovelling the ball on to Tuilagi or giving a little pop pass/offload to a supporting player. But if that was all one needed to be an international centre then we'd be fine. I mean Brad Barritt can physically pass the ball, as can pretty much everyone who plays rugby. However what he can't seem to do is pass the ball at the right time or place to put people outside him in space, which is less of a skill that can be developed and more of a talent that a good attacking centre requires IMO. Its no coincidence that since Twelvetrees has been playing at IC England have been better at getting the back line involved and scoring tries out wide rather than waiting for charge downs to rumbling over the line. Thats because Twelvetrees can not only pass, but knows when to pass.

Can't disagree, although i'm not a soothsayer, i can't imagine Stuart rushing him into a 'classic' no.12 role, his lateral movement isn't anywhere near a 36 or Eastmond, better running off a 12, but you could say Burgess > Barritt, possibly even on a par if not a good replacement for Tuilagi (if injured), who can offload. His work rate is immense and his a leader, the type who can turn a game, break the line, lift the team with a big hit. He'll probably come under a bit of flak if his shoehorned into a No.12 role when he probably isn't a 12, then again Eastmond was stand out on the Argentina tour at 12 and hasn't had a look in.

Be interesting to see where he actually starts or what his actual best position would be. May not suit the purists, yearning for a Greenwood or Conrad distributor but i'd be happy to see how feeding the two big lads at centre works out.

Two big centres can work with a 10 who can bring them into the game well.
At Sale we have Tuitupou and Leota - with Macleod at 10 they look pants going forward, but with Cipriani they look great.
I wouldn't back Farrell to work with them, but an on form Ford/Burns/Cipriani could wreak havoc with those two outside him.

That said I'd still rather one of 36/Eastmond with a big lad outside him.

Surely this would limit the offensive threat of your wings though. Big centres aren't generally as likely to pass the ball wide.

Generally yes. If you've got roaming wingers it's not as bed, also helps if your big lads also can(/do) pass out wide rather than going for the bosh every phase.

Seremaia Bai ------ > Tigers ( Replacement for Lamb, according to Gillingham)
De Marchi ---------> Tigers ( Replacement for Stanko according to a Italian news source)
Campagnaro ----------> Tigers (Rumoured to be going as a replacement if Bowden goes)

Goneva is now apparently looking to re-sign with tigs.

Conor Gilsenan ---> Connacht

Loan for the rest of the season, strange move if true

Also Eoin Griffen --> London Irish

The Sharks, to clarify, not Sale. Not sure if he will join Sharks for Super Rugby or Natal Sharks for CC.
Allan Dell, Simon Berghan, Nick McLennan all to Edinburgh. Great to see Edinburgh developing the next generations of Scottish players.

Perhaps he and Murphy can join Peter Borlase and Michael Bent in the propping hall of fame.

We were meant to be sniffing around Dell... lost him, lost Bresler... hopefully the juiciest target there comes off, everyone seems to think it has.

Chadwick would be an odd one unless he has an Irish granny. Not that I know ought about him mind.

Eamonn Sheridan to Munster rumour is still going especially with Griffin going to LI. Can anyone tell me if he's any good or not. Rumors of Mulchrone too who is Irish qualified as well, but I doubt we'd sign the two of them. We don't have the money for a top centre it looks.(*sarcasm filter*) It's the Joe Schmidt agenda pushing buttons so Leinster can blow millions on a fancy new Nike Air Max 9081's (Kirchener) while poor old Munster's toes are poking through their 33 year old (Downey) shoes(*/here endeth the sarcasm*)
Rumours that Downey is retiring so with two centres out I'd expect a signing soon.

Also Barcella to Toulon.

Darren Hudson --> Bristol

Can't blame him. Hasn't gotten the chances under O'Connor, and to a certain extent Schmidt before him. Has had a nasty knack of getting himself injured at the worst possible time.

Slightly surprised LI didn't make a move for him.

I'm a big fan. Nice physical player, but somewhat like Hudson he never got the chance to break into the Leinster setup thanks to injury and game time limited by the guys ahead of him. Went to Rotherham and managed to stay fit and has been playing well for London Irish. I'd be surprised if Not sort-ofs were that willing to let him go really.
