Transfers rumours

Can understand Mathew Morgan leaving seeing that he's always gonna be second choice at the O's as long as Biggar is there. Odd that there's problems with him asking for too high wages, you'd think anything a little bit higher than whatever he's on now (can't be that much as a young player) would be good enough?

Sale Sharks supporters club meet the managers thing tonight, they confirmed that Miller is def off and Cipriani is def not.

Leo Auva'a to Newcastle Falcons my mate told me at rugby training don't know if there is any truth in it ?. :)

Ulster should have tried to sign Jack O'Connell from Leinster. He isn't going to get much game time and is a decent player.

In fairness Ulster need depth at both sides of front row so mightn't be bad bit of business

really? was he not ****e?

or is this still the buy every iq prop possible mentality

Gotta be pretty hard to get 19 Super Rugby caps in effectively an season if you're shat, even if you are in an Australian team.

I'm pretty pleased. It had to be an IQ prop, more or less, and his rep is about as good as is out there. Genuine difficulties thinking of other IQ props who could have been brought in to do a job straight away.

Gotta agree. Smart by the Red Hand powers as he's IQ so nothing to loose and as I said Ulster need few props

fair enough
last time i heard of him he was still at chiefs

not just iq but actually irish aswell
well if he does come hopefully he is better than i thought!

I can't comment on Ruaidhrí Murphy's performances over the last few years because I haven't seen him play. It's fair to say he's had a nomadic career up to now and hasn't forced his way into the first team anywhere.

Positives are that he's an Irish prop, has learned from quality coaches (Mike Brewer, Michael Cheika, Rob Baxter, Jake White) and international props (numerous Irish and SA internationals at Leinster, Australian internationals at the Brumbies) and is coming into his propping prime. The guy whose spot in the squad he'll be taking, Tom Court, didn't make any impact until he was 28 before becoming a quality player upon switching to loosehead.

Ulster weren't really spoiled for choice. Their only IQ options would have been Michael Bent and Jack O'Connell. It's arguable whether either of those players are better than Murphy.

What I'd heard/his stats seem to imply is that he'd got his way properly into the Brumbies then basically lost a season through injury. Where's the SH posters when we need them...

Please be true. Although it seems unlikely - he would basically need to switch codes this year realistically, but not until after the NRL season which would mean right at the back end of this year.

We could dwarf even the Wales backline if we managed to get him and the twins.

12. Sam Burgess
13. Manu Tuilagi

Probably the most powerful centre combo you could ever hope to see.

Not the most skilful of league players though, the wingers will certainly be bored with those two as centres, Burgess is an old style league player who goes route one, his handling and discipline is the biggest worry last season he had 37 handling errors which for a League prop forward whose main job is to just break the line is pretty sub standard, and he would have to be v.careful as not to get carded as he borders on being dirty in league. and could be a card magnet.

Burgess is slow for a centre, even Tuilagi faster than him. Rather have him at No.6 or No.8, would be promising at No.8 with his league background. His ability to run full steam and break the line.
