Transfers rumours

I assume if Bath are after a new SH then they really aren't going to resign Stringer? Heard a rumour he might be let go which is bizarre IMO. I mean he's fairly old but he's still playing some very good rugby. Unless Bath manage to sign a top tier international I can't see any replacement not being a step down.

That's the only situation in which Strings will be let go I think - he's invaluable as a character in the squad.
I think Chris Cook (on loan to LW) is more likely to be released.

The rumours of us trying to get Genia have been very strong though, so I would suspect that if a big name is available then we'll be getting them.
The same goes for the lock, because we already have a decent bunch - for what it's worth I don't think there's anything in the Richie Gray rumour.

You'd need the rest of the pack playing at 114% to make up for the lack of...well, anything, that Gray offers anywhere other than in the centres/on the wing, though.

Bath do have a very good pack, though, so if anyone can afford/cater for that useless sack of spuds in their pack it's them.

Hence why I said potential level of performance. He's certainly capable of far better than he managed for Sale. You really have to wonder if he wanted to be there...

Everyone loves a gazelle... see: Tom Croft.

Apparently he doesn't like it at Castre - no Idea how reliable that is.

I do know that we are looking for a new lock and SH though.
Strong rumours that we tried to sign Genia, but his international career stopped that.
So Bruce is certainly looking for a big name.

... and at Castres too! Gotta say, there's quite a few players going over the channel and more or less u-turning the moment they get there.

I heard Gray is apparently settled down in Castres now, and with Fellow scot Beattie coming I can't see it happening.

The Genia Rumour is just that imo it Dan Carter all over again. Really I can only see Laidlaw being the big name signing for Bath which has some merit getting which would be a good fit. Who is meant to be leaving at Bath? and would bath be able to afford both a SH like Genia or Laidlaw and a 2nd Row like Wyn-Jones or Gray?

The rugby paper has Tigers talking to ngwenya (don't know how effective he would be on the narrowest pitch in the League) and Teddy Thomas, can't either happening, out of the 2 I would go for Thomas, but wouldn't bet on it.

The Genia rumour is that he isn't coming to Bath, after being sought out.

Obviously the signings will all have a bearing on each other.
If we got someone like AWJ then it would probably be very difficult to afford another big name too.
If the Salary cap was a non-issue then we could definitely afford it... but alas.

We potentially have quite a few guys leaving, a fair few contracts finish at the end of the season.

Isn't Teddy off to Toulouse?
I could definitely see you guys getting Ngwenya.

Dimitri Yachvili - Biarritz ---> Toulon. Toulon are to go for him if Kockett goes back on his pre contrat with Tuolon. And no one has mentioned Sean O'Briens new contract. Praise The Lord!!!!

Said on TV tonight Leinster are confident Heaslip will sign on too in next 2/3weeks. So great for IRFU that all 4 will be kept that were targeted (POC SOB Heaslip Earls)

Good news in ways but it won't help the development of Murphy. Wouldnt be as bad if Heaslip goes, rather him than O'Brien. But he's looking good as it is and it's a massive plus for Leinster to keep those two, just like it is for Munster to keep Paulie and Earls.

Well in fairness it was never likely Paulie was leaving and Keith has young girl and girlfriend and they're all young but settled in Limerick with all their families here too so neither were really going to go

Murray was targeted as well wasn't he?

I think Heaslip will go, he's stated a few times before he'd like the chance to play abroad.

Murray and Donnacha Ryan. Donnacha was brought to Perpignan as guest. But over years BOD, Healy, Zebo (who has French blood) and Luke Fitz to mention a few in recent times. Even if Heaslip did go 2 out of how many isn't bad

Martin Gillingham quite reliable regarding top14 says Tigers are on the verge of signing Teddy Thomas, I will believe when I see but will make me a very happy man.

Boris Stankovich to NGD. 34 but still a better prop than what we have had for the last... decade.
