How old is Palmer now? Davies was linked to Leicester recently as a replacement for Deacon apparently.

Not a case of willing to lose, more a case of outbid.

Leicester have quite a few centres on the books, just a matter of keeping them all fit, I imagine they'll be signing another centre/wing to replace him next year.

It's a position of strength really; suggests to me that either:

1) Tom Palmer is off somewhere for a final stint or
2) Dai has lost faith in James Cannon, which seems unlikely as he's been a recent favourite of Dai and has come on massively over the time Dai's been here.
3) Esteban Lozada, who was presumably offered only a short year's contract, is not being kept on, and Bradley would take his place in the squad.

It seems an odd thing to say but I'd prefer it was option A) because Cannon is a valuable and committed part of the squad, and I think we'll just make problems for ourselves by having so many options at lock.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Palmer move back to France. I think the main reason he came back to England was because he was in the England squad and the RFU started saying that foreign based players wouldn't be selected in most cases.

Agree with that - though I think he was top quality for the six nations in 2011 and an important part of our winning the thing. I swear he was bigger and more physical back then and was part of a big gain-line defensive effort.

Even Leinster kinda win from it. I know they won't want to lose Jack, no one wants to lose a prospect like that, but if he moves and they replace him with a quality NIQ they no longer get felched every international window.

edit: Also just seen a hint that Leinster may end up with an Ulster back.
