Transfers rumours

Kennedy back to England is interesting. He's really flourished in France. Would be a nice addition to the EPS maybe?

Got some competition in the shape of Parling, Attwood, Launchbury, Lawes, Slater, always thought of him as lightweight for a 2nd row.

Yeah, can't see it at all.
Attwood, Parling and Launchbury with Lawes biting at their heels, for me.

However it will be good to see Kennedy back - very good, and underrated, player. Wonder where he'll end up? Back at Not Nots?

I can think of worse players to bring into the squad is there's an injury crisis, but not for day to day England use. Whoever signs him will be happy as though, cracking Premiership level player.

^ Completely, he's certainly not a bad international player, but we have two of each type of SR (Long or Lumpy) who are very good.
And he'll be a great addition to any AP squad. Seems like the sort of player Baxter likes, if he is indeed going to Exeter.

Are there any concrete sources on an update of him coming back to the UK? Because he was very close to signing for Glos months ago, but the rumour of the time was that he was asking for too much money and the move collapsed because of it. Either this is an old rumour resurfacing, or maybe he's lowered his expectations.

And I wouldn't be surprised if he were to come back into England contention. 18 st 2, 6'8, decent lineout operator. Was good enough to start regularly for Toulon...

I wonder if he might go to Worcester...
Gillies retired today and there's been rumours for ages that Schofield is leaving.

I think he might be considered too old to be breaking into the EPS, at almost 32.
Useful to have a guy like him around if we get a couple of injuries, though.

I doubt he'd go back to Irish, they're not really on an upwards trajectory whereas Exeter wouldn't be as much of a step down from Toulon. I didn't realise he was that old so consider my earlier comments about the EPS revoked. Although as has been mentioned having him back in the Prem and available just in case would be no bad thing.

I wonder if the Armitages will ever come back from Toulon?

If he pulls a Shaw, he could make the WC in 2019! :p

Anyway, we have a whack of depth at 4 (Slater, Lawes, Launchbury, Kruis, Savage, Garvey etc.) but are lacking in lineout operators (Parling, Attwood, Robson...). I would definitely have Kennedy ready to come in if there were injuries to both Parling and Attwood.

He seems to love Irish as a club, though, it might be about that rather than wanting to move to Tigers or what-have-you.

Not sure about the Armitage brothers. I don't think Delon will leave France as long as there's a contract there for him. I could imagine Steffon coming back, but then he's been ignored by England for so long, and now they've got Kvesic in the mix, and is a fluent French speaker from his youth, he could well settle down over there.

Might have been mentioned somewhere else, but heard a strong rumour from relations (word of mouth I'm afraid so no written source) that Gareth Delve has signed for Cardiff Blues, even though he said he was heading to Japan.

Got caught up in the big Wimbledon result, almost forgot to mention that we have contract news coming tomorrow #whatawaytostarttheweek

Faletau? :hellomybrotha4oq:

N.B: May not even be new player related (Re-signing or Burrda is a possibility)

Not wanting to take a dump on your parade or anything...but the use of 'contract' rather than 'squad additions' or 'signings', suggests contract renewals?

Maybe a new dealer

That "joke" is so 2009

That would be a big signing if true, in an area where the Blues have little quality. It would be great to be able to watch Delve play on a regular basis again.

The Blues could have a handy first 15 next season with: Jenkins, Rees, Andrews (still weak here), Davies, Paulo (?), Pretorius/Ellis Jenkins (I think he could step-up)/Warburton, Warburton/Navidi, Delve; L.Williams, Patchell, Robinson, Allen, O.Williams, Cuthbert, Halfpenny.

It's a raw and inexperienced midfield though, pity Roberts didn't hang around for a couple more seasons.

I'm well aware that it's unlikely, I even said so in that post.

The Dragons are supposed to have turned down a lot of offers.

Don't forget Robin Copeland in the backrow. He's been very handy this season (allbeit in a poor Blues team). Paulo was an excellent signing as well. Delve would a ball carrying no.8 that the Blues lack.

I think the issue they have is the midfield and the persistence in picking a Hewitt/Evans partnership rather than the partnership you mention above. With the right selection, they might be a handy team.
