Transfers rumours

Add in an Aussie too who we in talks with who is international class but nowhere near done deal
Yeah that one has been floating around for a while now.
I've just looked up Van den Heever on Youtube, and as the results didn't consist of him getting smashed repeatedly, I assume he is better than Kirchner :p

Well he's versatile can play 15 but will be more a squad player. I don't know tons but I understand he has serious gas and is a 7s guy so presume he can be iffy in defense but definitely a good buy for price I've heard

Not exactly hard.

Van den Heever hasn;t been up to much for awhile now but he showed some class in the 201 0or 2011? super rugby season

I have a question. Munster have run at a loss for the last two years and are predicting a break even year at most this time. They also have a large number of prospective Irish internationals on their wings, as well as bringing in Andrew Conway from Leinster. Why on Earth are they being allowed bring in another two foreign backs, when Leinster could quite clearly do with the NIQ spot on the wing a lot more?

The squad has been bloated for years. Why change the habits of a lifetime.

All teams are allowed same number of NIQs and we need cover for injuries. If Leinster want to bring in NIQs then they can and they have done too

Jason Tovey returning to Dragons.
I still think he can make a decent Pro12 level player, if he stays fit. Keep him only at standoff though. I quite like the look of Hallam Amos, I think he will take the fullback position off Prydies eventually.

Well that didn't work out for him! Good to see him back. The Dragons need to just play him now, he's a better player than Steff and Robling, and with Prydie in the side, he doesn't have to place kick. I'm hoping for an improved season from the Dragons, especially with Lyn Jones and hopefully Kingsley Jones there.

Prydie isn't going to be in the side if he plays like he did in Japan, Dan Evans would start ahead imo. He's timid in contact, seems to slow down as he approaches being tackled which weakens him. Compare that to Dirksen or Halfpenny who are hard to put down as they run fully committed every time.

I disagree, I think Steffs kicking is better than Jason's, and the are comparable in attack and defence. Robling is better at inside centre than standoff. Evans offers the most in attack of all our standoffs. I bet Lyn wishes we didn't bother to sign Burton. He has scrapped Ryan already, think a few more will follow.

Agree there Duck. I would go with a backbone of Jonathan Evans, Steffan Jones/Daniel Evans, Hallam Amos, Jack Dixon, Adam Hughes, Will Harries, Daniel Evans/Tom Prydies. Bench of Rees, Robling/Tovey, and one of the outside backs. Tough call between Evans and Rees.

Yeah I agree, but I wouldn't say they have options who are massively better than him, and for that reason his kicking will probably keep him in the side.

For me, Tovey's passing game stands him out from the rest. He has the ability to fire out a pass that can unlock any defence. That Brew try against Munster from a couple of years ago is a prime example. Brew's finish was exceptional, but Tovey's initial pass to get him into space is what really made the try.

Yeah, Jason when fit, in 2009-11 was quite a decent player. He was unlucky with injuries and preferences, he could have had a cap. Biggest thing is staying fit, and then getting consistent appearances. Could be a decent signing, unlikely to break the bank. He won't have Wayne inside or Ashley outside though.

completely forgot Ross Wardle, who was good at outside centre in the last few matches. I think Lyn was a wise choice, he showed at LW that he can make a decent team with a limited budget. I think LW would have been more competitive had the Scott-Keats affair not happened.
